apparently it's not from BA. I assumed so. (got the info from a pm on another site)...neither of them are in their top500 prospects.

and according to this link. Carroll, a former Liberty commit, turned down LU to attend Juco

Eddie Butler (Radford) was the first BSC player drafted at #46 in 1st round/compensatory round.

Parmley goes in the 7th...Blue Jays.

Nicholas Grant goes 15th to the Mets..

2012 RHP Nick Grant has verbally committed to Liberty University. Grant is a big strong right-hander with raw arm strength that has been clocked as high 97 recently.

the most he can make (bonus) is 100,000. :|

On the upside, it looks like Josh Henderson will be coming to town. The fact that no one is picking him has me wondering if he told everyone not to bother since he was headed to LU.

Sly i thought the same thing. Also, i dont think it's guaranteed that Grant won't come. A lot of that money will be allocated to the early round high school kids. Just because 100k is available doesn't mean the cash strapped mets can or will offer that. I think we have a good chance there too. I also wonder if Blake would consider coming back again. He had a better year than last year but if he stuck around one more year and moved into the rotation and had a great year he could move in the top 3 or 4 rounds. He's going to stay in the 15-20 area as long as he struggles with control.

These guys can't stand Toman. There's a great chance they're all gone.

well shoot, lets just cancel next baseball season then because nobody's coming back (being completely tongue in cheek in saying that)

If Grant chooses to go to a four-year college, he'll have to stay for three years before he'd be draft eligible again. Either two years plus a redshirt or three years of playing.

JUCO players can be drafted after completing any year of school.

Dodgers took Henderson in the 16th round. I would think they'd have to go way above slot to give him enough money for him not to come to school.

Doesn't the old rule of transferring to a JUCO for sophomore season still give kids access to draft in two years?

We had 7 drafted last year. So what is it. Did we underachieve last year or overachieve this year since we had 3 drafted? We were 41-19 and a lot of folks posting want Toman fired. :dontgetit

we also had HFC Danny Rocco who won the BSOUTH 4 yrs running but never sniffed the playoffs. I think the feeling is that at some point the bar has to be raised. 0-fers v CCU lately make it that much worse.

Last year we underachieved BIG TIME. Tyler had a terrible season and Rasmus's injury hurt us as well. But we had 3 starters log almost 100 innings with sub 3 era and a 4th that was drafted with a sub 3 era in about 65 innings.

This year I dont think we overachieved we just didn't have as many draftable players this year. it was a much younger team and Mike Rob's injury probably cost him a shot at being drafted again. I mean none of the other seniors were draftable.

That being said, if Toman is able to save the ship and bring all these guys in, this group plus Close, Grauer, Cordell could be a very good young nucleus to build around for a couple years. I think a wild card could be Carson Herndon. He was throwing 89-90 his first year pitching, with some improved mechanics and the summer to gain arm strength he has the perfect body type to get up to 93-94 next year.

i wonder if there was any unreported commits that were drafted. Liberty could be better with a Lefty hitting Henderson and a power pitcher in Grant, something that Toman teams lack. Both played for the canes so maybe they both come or have some kind of influence. I believe Henderson is coming but Grant. IDK. I think Forslund is gone. maybe Smith will reconsider coming back since he wasn't drafted (i highly doubt it). Rasmus had the option with being drafted.

I really don't know how the team is going to look next year. freshmen or players leaving.

oh and Joel Licon was drafted 25th by the twins.

David Bote was drafted in the 18th round. He was here in the fall but transferred out to a JuCo. Wonder why...

yes yes we know...Jim Toman is the demon spawn of Satan, hated by all who know him, and enemy of any baseball player or recruit who ever set foot on this campus and who, if he keeled over and died tomorrow morning, you wouldnt bat an eye over for even a second...

You need to chill dude. You've crossed the line a ton lately. I don't like him or like him as a coach, but to say what you said is clinically insane.
