It is interesting to note that Marshall only plays 4 games all season in Huntington. The rest of their "home" schedule is played in Charleston & Beckley.

thanks for finishing that up Sly. I had to run to a meeting. yeah they play they CUSA games in charleston. weird.

I don't think they have a suitable on-campus facility for league games ... CUSA probably requires them to play their home games elsewhere. Cider can correct me on this if I'm wrong, but if you look at their website, Appalachian Power Park in Charleston is listed under facilities as their home field.

That big bold "M" does make me smile.

I've been gone a long time, but I wonder if the App. Power Park is a new name for the old Walt Powell Park where the AAA Charleston Charlies used to play when I was a boy.

I do know that there is no college baseball stadium between the 3rd and 5th Avenues that make up Marshall's campus in Huntington.

Anybody making the 3-hour road trip to Beckley?

It's now the home of the class A West Virginia Power, which is in the Pirates system. Great little ball park which is rated one of the top 10 in the minors. I saw a game there 3 years ago.

Wait. Marshall doesn't have it's own baseball complex?

No, they spend all their money on academics, football, and basketball.

Nope its a new stadium.

Today could be a rainout/T-Storms.

Saturday and Sunday look good. Small chance of T-Storms Sunday, but probably not until the evening.

This is embarassing. Game is moved back until 8PM due to the high school game being played before it.

What the heck Marshall? I already hated you guys but this is an absolute joke.

Flames Win. Bats came alive a little bit with 11 hits. Glad they will be able to sleep in prior to the 5:00 game as this one ends at 11:30. Also, nice to win on a night when Niggli didn't have his best stuff. Bankamper with a stellar 3 innings in relief. Let's get #2 tomorrow!

Beej, in not sure why you want everyone to sing praises after every win. It's a win. It's what you're supposed to do.

Im not expecting angelic choruses trumpeting our greatness either but when youve got people on here who (from appearances) want to see teams fail (Im not naming names but those people know who they are...), even a begrudging word of congrats could be rendered at this point. Anyway, lets take tonight and keep the good vibes going.
