Its not...course after winning 16 of your first 18 you had to figure an off day was coming...that blown call could be seen as a game changer though

Goes back again to what I mentioned after the SJ game on Sunday...olldflame mentioned (and somebody else I think flamehunter) that baseball is one of those sports where if things fall the wrong way and the other pitcher is even slightly on, youre gonna get knocked off.

I admit I'm only hearing what I hear over the radio, but you 6 innings without a hit against a pitcher heaving nothing but fastballs in the 80's? Cause that's no good at all.

Sorry, don't mean to be so down about it, but these kinds of games you cannot lose. At all.

Im not saying your wrong in that jbock...Nick did raise a good point just before the last out in that you cant be dropping 8-13 runs a game every single game(I think he said you cant average 8 runs a game the whole season or something). Youre gonna have days where you only score 1 or 2 runs. 80 miles an hour would look a lot faster to those of us who never played baseball past little league

Let's just say, even I could hit an 80mph fastball. But yeah, I'm not on the team, so okay.

I'm just concerned. Thank you for not jumping on me this time beej :D

And youre right to be...although in our first 19 games now we have scored <7 runs (including today) 7 times and we're still 4-3 in those games. Any pitcher can have an "on" day and this was their's (even with 4 walks). Its fine to be concerned, but hey, you shrug it off as best you can and get ready for the next one.

question. once grauer gets healthy do you take wrimmer and cordell out? close at 1st and grauer at c? both haven't been hitting at all this year.

also it sounds like they can't hit the inside fastball.

Toman did not sound happy. He said the batting issues would be corrected in th morning. Hopefully so! You have to win these games especially with JMU coming into town.

Grauer will def. catch when he comes back. The weak hitting is from Sype Trey and Cordell. Tho all three have had clutch hits, but they haven't showed consistency. I'm not sure we have anyone with the glove to take Sype's place at 3b tho Wimmer played the first game and half there before grauer got hurt. Cox has really struggled since the first weekend too, he had like 9 rbi's the first weekend. I'd like to see more of Sizemore and Close if Cordell and Cox keep struggling.
