Just out of curiosity, whatever happened to him? I was there when he left under... odd... circumstances, and I haven't heard any of him since. Anyone with the info?

He is teaching at a baseball school in the Cleveland, Ohio area and spending more time with his family ... I talked to him a little while ago and he seemed to be doing well ... He was a fantastic coach, a great teacher and knew how to scout an opponent as good as any coach I have ever seen ...

Spending more time with his family? Clearly he has his priorities all out of whack.

Let's see. Spend more time with your family, or be one of the more successful teams, have your budget continually cut, and still try to make bricks with no straw. Not exactly a no-brainer nor "odd" circumstances.

Well... to the average person all that info might not have been known... so it was "odd" at the time.

I'm not going to argue with you there, although... I'm honestly stunned -- stunned -- that we didn't have major league talent. Those guys we rode to the NCAA tourney all flamed out in the minors (except Baker, who's in AA).

But hey, they did awesome at LU.

That is pretty amazing. Butler, Big South Male Athlete of the Year as a freshman. He never recaptured the magic of that first year.

he is...i'm from that area and run into him occasionally. Been a few months since i've seen him -- but he's around, pretty involved in youth baseball and I believe also volunteers some time at a local high school or two.
