No ACC teams visiting Worthington Field this season. But there is the usual assortment of Virginia CAA opponents coming to town along with a series with St. Johns of the Big East. But the highlight of the schedule is clearly the series with CCU being up here this year. Here's the lowdown from the SIDs:

The Liberty baseball team has released its 2012 schedule, which includes 11 games against 2011 NCAA Regional qualifiers and contests at 2011 College World Series participants, Virginia and North Carolina.
The Flames will host 30 games in their final season at Worthington Stadium. Liberty is slated to move to a new facility in 2013.
The Flames will entertain in-state opponents James Madison, Old Dominion and VCU in midweek contests, while welcoming BIG EAST power St. John's, a NCAA Regional participant the last two seasons, for a three-game weekend series in March.

So our baseball schedule is out before our basketball schedule. Makes sense.

Kind of odd that we play a single game with Radford on 2/21. I'm guessing both teams just wanted to fill a hole in the schedule?

Do like that we are playing at Virginia, VA Tech, N. Carolina, and Duke. With the changes in the RPI formula this year, a win on the road against this group will be even more beneficial than in years past (assuming Duke and VA Tech have better years).

schedule is much better
what the heck is radford on a weekday, i thought that was a misprint
its absolutely unbelievable that this is out before basketball
I would guess we offered this year as a sacrifice to the ACC teams in order to drum up some big time home games for the opening of the new staidum next year.

We play Radford in a non-conference game? I guess West Va Tech was already booked.
And who is New York Tech?

The schedule may be just a little better than last year, but not by much. Glad to see them playing some more ACC schools this year (Duke, North Carolina, Virginia), along with Virginia Tech. I would like to see them play some Southern Conference teams also, as they are not too far to travel to these schools. St. John's is a good match up, and as usual the other VA. schools. The Liberty Tournament is pretty weak again; sure wish we could get better opponents to play in this tournament. They do not have to travel as far this year; as Winthrop may be the longest road trip; besides the opening weekend in Charleston, SC.
The one BIG PROBLEM I have with this years schedule is, we are not playing everybody in our conference this year. No games against VMI or Charleston Southern. I just think you should play everyone in your conference instead of playing non-conference games. I hope the Flames have another successful season and wish them good luck and no injuries this year.

i think you underate the Citadel and Richmond, also SJU is a solid 3 games. This schedule is much better than last year with the additions of UNC, UVA and the before mentioned games. Really the only big time game we dont have from last year is South Carolina.

Why aren't we playing VMI & CSU? The CSU series gives me a reason to head south.
