justin was taken in an ambulance down here in martinsville last night in the 8th inning trying to leg out a grounder. he laid motionless for about 15 minutes. the paper said he heard a loud pop as he stretched for the bag. i'm hoping the diagnosis isn't as bad as it looked in person.

sorry to hear that and thanks for the info.
maybe someone here closer to LU baseball could fill us in as this progresses?
And on Sunday, the bad luck for the Mustangs extended beyond the loss, as a freak injury sent Martinsville’s Justin Sizemore to the hospital via ambulance.
With two outs in the eighth inning, Sizemore legged out a groundball to shortstop. But as he came to the first base bag, he stepped awkwardly and went tumbling to the ground a few feet down the line.
Sizemore, a rising junior at Liberty University, laid there nearly motionless for 15 minutes as he was examined by team personnel. An ambulance pulled nearly all the way onto the infield, and he was strapped to a stretcher and removed from the field by rescue squad.
“Obviously, it’s a pretty serious injury,” Duffy said.
“It’s definitely a knee injury. I would say there’s a tear. He said he heard a loud pop ... I hope it’s his meniscus (rather than a ligament), that’s what I’m praying for.”
“That’s tough. Second-to-last game it happens, you know?” said John Faircloth, a teammate and a close friend of Sizemore. “That kills your summer.”
