Probably Linza and Evans in the late rounds if at all.

Have to believe Tyler will still be a decent round pick. The strong summer in the Cape Cod with wood will mean something even after the down year this year. Also wonder if Williams will get a look - his offensive production was good relative to other shortstops and the glove has always been there.

Two area (NE Oklahoma) high school pitchers went in the first round of the draft. Bundy was the first HS player selected and went to the Orioles with the #4 selection in the draft. He topped 100 against our local team a few weeks ago. Bradley was taken by the Arizona Diamond Backs with the #7 selection in the draft. Apparently, he wants a signing bonus of $20 million dollars or will pitch for the Oklahoma Sooners. If he sticks to his number, he will probably be playing in Norman next year.

Bundy signed with Texas. Bradley signed with Oklahoma to play football/baseball.

The Flames will have several get drafted. Forslund, Williams, T. Bream, and Evans for sure. Niggli, Robertson, Rasmus, and Baker could go as well.

As an O's fan, I read where Bundy is asking for 30 milion. His brother (also a pitcher) is a already in the O's minor league system.

Matt Williams to the Cards in the 15th!

I haven't been following the Flames that long but three guys in the top 15 rounds has to be close to the best draft year they have ever had.

From what I can tell only 6 players from the BSC have been drafted so far - 3 from CCU and 3 from LU. It is now the 17th round!!!

Of the guys (other than Evans) being drafted, who would consider not signing and coming back for next year?

sounds like the scout that told superjon that he wouldn't touch a liberty pitcher was alone in his thinking. 3 on the second day of the draft alone.

With all this talent, is there any doubt left about why we did not have a much more successful season?

can we have a discussion without someone bringing that up now that the season is over?

Why? Do you want to maintain status quo for next year?

the talent was there on the pitching staff. Proper handling of the staff would have helped a lot. Our hitting was going to be questionable this year even with tyler doing well, once he struggled so badly this year our lineup just wasn't good enough to cover that along with that 3 week stretch without rasmus, then JJ went down right when he started to swing the bat well. If all the juniors sign it will be a long year next year. I dont know about the rest but i would guarantee you that Matt is gone from what i heard.

I didnt say I wanted to do that...I just think that for once we can rejoice with the guys who have been drafted and save all that talk for some other thread or something

Fair enough. I am extremely happy for the players. I hope to see each one in the majors some day. And I hope this helps bring more great talent to LU.

Rasmus, Linza and Bream Taken on the Final Day of the MLB Draft
June 8, 2011| Lynchburg, Va.
Three more Liberty Flames were taken on the third and final day of the Major League Baseball Draft, Wednesday. Liberty catcher Casey Rasmus, pitcher Keegan Linza and third baseman Tyler Bream were selected this afternoon.

With three players selected today, the Flames had seven players taken during the 2011 MLB Draft, the most players chosen in a single draft in the 38-year history of the program. Previously, the Flames had five players taken in the 2002 Draft. In addition, Liberty ties the 2007 and 2010 Coastal Carolina squads for the Big South Conference record of seven players picked in a single draft. Liberty has had 47 players drafted in program history...The Flames have had a player taken in every MLB Draft since 2000.

Blake expected to sign
Blake Forslund, RHP, Liberty University | Picked By: Red Sox | Round: 17

You don’t find too many arms in the 17th round like Blake Forslund. Command for him right now is a major problem, but this is the type of arm you take gambles on. Scouts in the area have compared him favorably to Rockies’ reliever, Matt Lindstrom. He works consistently at 94-95 mph and has been has high as 97-98 mph this spring. Considering his very poor college season, Boston also is likely to get him inked for a relatively reasonable bonus. If they can get him consistently in the strike zone, they may have a future closer on their hands.
Williams expected to sign
Pick
15-470
St. Louis Cardinals
SS Matt Williams
Liberty University
Click for more details [+]

Listed at 5-foot-11 and 170 pounds, Matt Williams is a shortstop who saw his average climb from .283 his freshman year to .360 the next year. He hit .336 his junior year in 2011 and led the Liberty University Flames in home runs at nine. Williams was named to the Big South All-Conference second team the past two seasons.

Williams showed good power for a shortstop, but it is questionable how much power he projects in the minors. He has decent speed, stealing 16 out of 20 bases in 2011.

Williams probably can’t do much more to increase his stock, so it will be surprising if the Cardinals don’t sign the junior.
