The Flames played a series at Rice either the year the Owls won it all or the year after if my memory is correct. I was probably the lone LU fan in Reckling Park that weekend and I couldn't cheer from the pressbox.

Since Toman got threw out of the last game; does he get to coach this game against USC? I heard he had to sit out a game.

We did play Florida in men's basketball the year after they won the national title back in 06-07. Al Horford had a double-double and Smitty dropped 18 for us.

We played So. Carolina in 1974 when they were #3 in the nation, wasn't pretty. Bobby Richardson was their coach then and Johnny Hutton was assistant coach. Hoping for a better outcome today. :D

Garrett Baker will start and Toman will be in the stands to serve his one game suspension for getting tossed over the weekend against VMI. Doug Bream is out today as well with a wrist injury.

We seem to be holding our own so far against these guys. Hoping that Garrett Baker hangs in there as long as possible since I don't want this thing to come down to our bullpen.

Ryan Cordell gets his second homer of the day in the top of the 8th, and jeff jefferson hurts his ankle or knee and was helped off the field. the question is who is going to catch now? Rasmus is still out, and the only other option i know of trey wimmer has been hurt all year.
