Don't look now but the 1st Place Flames are headed to the Beach to face the 9th Place Chanticleers (!?!). But who is kidding who ... this is a big series despite CCU's unusually poor start ...

the bats wake up just in time for a big clash..with both teams pitchign so well it could be some low scoring games. Hopefully the defense comes up big as well if that is the case.

Once again we are getting out played and out coached by Coastal. Happens every time we play them. It's bad Asheville can beat them; and we are getting killed.

When are we actually going to live up to the shirt "beat coastal". I am a sophomore and have only seen us beat coastal ONE time in the three big sports (basketball, baseball, football) and that was in football at home and we beat everyone in the big south at home in football.

We're playing them at home this year. But don't worry, I bet we'll lose to Stony Brook.

I know... baseball jbock... baseball.

Yea im not worried about beating them at football at home. It just sucks we hand out thousands of beat coastal shirts and we can never seem to beat them when it matters.

Coastal was batting a whooping 240 avg. as a team before this game; and our pitchers made them look like the New York Yankees tonight. One word...EMBARRASSING!!!

Very dissappointing. I sure hope we don't play like this on Natonal Television. The last three we have not been comptetive with Coastal and doesn't appear this series is going to be either. Hope I am wrong

Don't know but I would doubt they would change their normal Niggli Saturday and Evans Sunday rotation at this point

And Gilmore pulls the quick hook. Bases load and nobody out and Connolly in to pitch.

LU had been up 4-3, but Coastal hit a dinger to tie the score at 4.

Best thing so far are the ESPNU broadcasters making fun of the Coastal mascot.

Later in the broadcast from the announcers: "Liberty is the largest Christain university in America with 12,000 students and they recruit nation-wide."

Was completely underwhelmed by whoever the play-by-play guy was and ensburg. Hard to believe ensburg played in the big leagues with some of the ridiculous comments he was making (suggesting coastal squeeze with the bases loaded and one out in the 9th to avoid a double play????).

But a great game...sorry you guys couldn't pull it out but definitely a good showing of quality baseball for the Big South. With Coastal struggling really hoping LU can step up tomorrow and carry the flag for the rest of the year...not sure coastal has enough bats to make another run deep in the CWS bracket.

At least we didn't get killed on National TV. That's a win in my book. If you're a sophomore you know exactly what I mean.

2 keys to today..didn't capitalize on the first inning walks. Thought we should have let Richardson start the 9th rather than get in trouble then come in.

Hold on....they played the Texas Rangers???? Or was it against the Myrtle Beach team that is a Texas Ranger franchise? I am googling now, because if it's the first one...I'm gonna flip
