I am sure the VCU campus is spellbound in anticipation of this baseball contest. Wait, there's what else going on?

Garret Baker cruises through 4 scattering 6 hits and Tyler Bream launches a 2 run bomb as part of a 3 run 5th and LU leads 6-1

Great to hear about Tyler's HR. If he can get hot this weekend, that would help us immensely (understatement of the day, for sure).

anybody listen to the game today or anything. it always scares me when a pitcher comes out after 4 innings when the line looks OK. Maybe he threw a ton of pitches, or maybe we wanted to get some guys some work, because the pen has hardly been used teh last couple weeks.

The biggest event of the last 2 games is somebody woke up the dang bats finally.

Just a hunch, but with a rather significant 3-game series coming up it would make sense that we would want to keep some arms fresh ... especially considering this wasn't a tight contest today.

CORRECTION - Hopefully the Rams graduate to football.

Im with Sly on this one...not every instance of a guy coming out after four innings is a sign of an injury or something...Storm wants to have all of his best weapons available all weekend because even though CCU is a bit down this year...its still a HUGE series. getting two of three in Conway would be a major confidence booster.

i agree.. i was just making sure. Most of the guys that followed Baker aren't going to pitch a lot of meaningful innings down teh stretch anyway. It's pretty clear that Beakler, Jrich, and Mccleod are going to handle most of the relief work.
