Consider the level of their competition aside from Fairfield.

sly i was thinking the same thing. They have played a really tough schedule. Makes our schedule look awful. I did click on NFU and Mercer and both teams seem to be off to good starts and VT is 9-4 after splitting a 4 game series with Bryant ..wow. That being said as a home game this is one you have to have.

Yeah Hope are boys can get a W tom. I know it will not make our schedule look any better with them having a bad year but we just need W's right now.

After the Tribe put up three runs in the top of the thiurd, Liberty plates 4 in the bottom half and leads 6-5 and is still batting as of this post

it's win the conference or nothing now if it wasn't already the case. forslund and swanson are just getting rocked every time out.

The worst kind of loss in baseball is when you get a bunch of runs, but get beat by giving up a bunch of runs.

It wasn't pretty to watch. One silver lining was Kemmerer; he pitched very well.

I was thinking the same thing in the car Jenkins. Is there any way to salvage the young season ans still get to regionals without wining the BS?

i dont think so, i mean maybe if they sweep this weekend then that could be possible but i dont see that, if anything we will be lucky to win a game this weekend. The pitching has been atrocious other than Linza and Jrich with a few decent relief outings by assorted others sprinkled in. The thing is we have basically used up all of our non-conference losses in the first 3 weeks of the season. Doesn't bode well when you still have a home against, tech, rode against W& M, 2 with JMU, 2 with VCU and this weekend, and the tourney at LU, 2 against maryland. I would think we would have to almost win out, or maybe drop 1 to have any shot at an at large of the remaining. At this point it's a waste of time to think about that.

The saddest part is that the offense is finally starting to wake up...but I could probably count two or three times in this game where if the play is made, the inning and the game probably turns out differently:

Top 3- Matt Williams, who has made only 1 error total in the first 12 games, makes the first of three errors. If he makes that play, we probably only give up one run, maybe none.

Top 8- Zack Haley makes an error allowing lead runner to third. Haley makes that play, that run doesnt eventually score.
