NCAA Dreaming

We could use a little help with all of the big teams winning their titles to limit the number of automatic qualifiers. Even still, we are back in the lousy position of being a borderline at large hoping the selection committee smiles our way. Our track record isn't great in this regard (i.e. football). While we don't have any marquee wins, we do have plenty of solid victories and 42 is still 42.
I would be surprised if we were chosen, but I wouldn't rule anything out at this point.

Life on the bubble. The overall record is appealing, the RPI is probably good enough and the Big South is ranked No. 11 among 32? conferences, even though that's largely due to Coastal. But the 0-7 record against teams in the top 50 will hurt. We shall see. You are right, it largely depends on the number of other teams out there that wind up snatching at-large spots rather than automatics.

Yeah going to be a long wait until Monday.....I think there were a couple Big south games and a few extra inning games we could have won it would have put us up around 45-46 and a much better chance but that happen didn't. I think the 0-7 against top 50 will hurt.

St. John's winning the Big East is terrible for Liberty.
N.C. State beating Florida State in the ACC is also bad.

NCAA has announced the 16 regional hosts...seems like the 'experts' are saying UConn will be a #2 with a southern team as the #1 seed @ that regional.

FWIW, ESPNU had Liberty as one of their last 5 teams IN!

Don't you mean FSU beating NCSU?

At the time, NC State was winning. FSU turned it on in the end, for sure.

I think Coastal playing so well and getting to host a regional helps you guys. LU playing in Charlotesville would be intriguing to see.
I'm looking forward to next spring when my boys get to play on campus again instead of the traveling for 'home' games, and in some nice new digs as well.
Hope you guys get in tomorrow, and represent the Big South well.

baseball america field of 64.... They do have LU as one of the first teams out.... but its a crapshoot. Normally BA gets it right but i can't say i agree with all of Fitt's projections...FSU as a #2 seed?? Not sold there...especially after they won the conference tourny. UConn isn't a #1 in my book, and the committee has consistently given host to northern #2 seeds the last few years if i recall correctly.
I agree that coastal as a national seed helps you guys.... But Elon and a few other definitely hurt. Good luck tomorrow and hoping for the best!
(and p.s. yes televised on ESPN 12:30pm est tomorrow...if i recall correctly the bracket is announced at 12:30pm so you'll find it online, but ESPN takes the whole 30 minutes to "reveal" it)

Haha, can't blame you for that.
ESPN (gets their info from BA) has you as first 9 out.
Rivlas (not credible at all): Next 10.

Coastal has College of Charleston in their bracket, should be interesting due to the fact the C of C has had CCU's number the whole season

Coastal gets CofC, NC State, and Stony Brook. They miss Clemson but CofC has had their number recently.

SC got stuck with The Citadel and VT and are matched up with the CCU regional. SC would have to go to Myrtle in the supers.
