Its a New Week

Disappointment was probably an understatement last week, what will it be this week? Hopefully offense will show up. Perhaps a 'hitting' coach is missing from the coaching staff. Hopefully injured players will not be rushed into positions. Long-term, the risks to the player and team outweigh the benefits. Hopefully coaches will make better decisions and not give up early in a game. It would be nice to see more fundamental baseball decisions made, ie bunting someone over in a low scoring game. It is also difficult to watch the outcome of poor decisions such as playing a recuperating infielder in the outfield when there are healthy outfielders sitting on the bench.
This 2010 team has often been mentioned as one of the most talented teams in LU history hopefully they will look more like it this week.

Welcome to the board. Obviously it is easy to question decisions coming off a weekend when we were swept. But I'll reserve judgement for now.

Sorry, it just felt like as the scores were coming in this weekend.

With all the gloom and doom on here you would have thought we were swept. Baseball is extremely unpredictable. I can't think of another sport where it's so likely on any given day that the best team won't always win.

Considering how the team has performed this last week (especially the hitting) I am hoping for a rainout today so we have time and regroup and get back to what this team is capable of doing.

Last week's theme was definitely not disappointment. It was great to see midweek wins. Thankfully the offense re-emerged. The pitching was solid and early leads appeared to take some of the pressure off of the pitchers. My only remaining concern going into this week, is the pattern I've noticed when pitching changes are made. It seems that the coaches consistently wait too long to make a change. Quicker decisions may have resulted in fewer walks, hit batters and even runs. I'm just saying it is something that needs attention. I am looking forward to this weeks contests!
