The boys take a Spring Break trip to the middle of VA and the middle of NC to take on a decent Dukes team and an above average Duke team.

I really want us to beat JMU by 10. Badly.

Matty Williams welcomes himself back to the lineup with a leadoff double. Picking up RIGHT where he left off. Atta boy.

There's live audio for this game. Nick and Doug are up in Harrisonburg.

Man, Curran gets hit by a TON of pitches! First and second, one out, for Bream.

They roll Tyler up and the inning is over.

Single, sac bunt, single and the Dukes are up 1-0.

Flames roll up another double play, seems like the millionth this year, and we escape with only one run allowed. 1-0 Dukes heading to top 2.

I'm sort of surprised we didn't bunt PJ in the top of the 1st. You can always second guess in baseball but hey, we have eight more chances to get runs so maybe we weren't going small ball in the first.

PJ has been hitting it well lately, hitting it very hard... including the one he hit in the first... but he hit it straight at someone. Can't blame Toman for taking the chance at a big play to start the game off.

Agreed completely. I didn't get to see last weekend, but against DSU PJ was hitting it well but couldn't get it to fall as much.

More of the same against SJU. He's really making good contact. Had his first HR of the season, no doubter to left.

Doug Bream reaches on an error and keeps the second inning going for the Flames, with Trey Wimmer up...

and he hits one to the track, right into a Dukes' glove. 1-0 JMU.

Why can't we beat JMU? We lose to them in every sport. This is getting beyond ridiculous

How about making it respectable???? Man they are 4-8 to make matters worse. We lost bad to the Dukes last year

It sure is nice we lose to all the in-state teams we play. Kind of makes it hard to brag on your team.

I was talking to someone about that yesterday at work. We beat some pretty good teams but always seem to lose to ODU and JMU in everything. Don't understand it sometimes.

JMU seems to just have our number...I was listening to the game yesterday and up til the fifth Giannini was living on the edge for much of the game and then the wheels came off. I counted three or four plays where the guy receiving the throw just dropped the ball and we lost an out that would have prevented a lot of damage

Middle of the 3rd, score is still 0-0. Matt Williams (good to see him back in the lineup) has the only hit (a single) in the game.

Yeah, glad to see the pitching hold up so far...

Then again, it is Umberger on the hill. Gotta expect big things out of him, will be good to get him back as a weekend starter.

Duke scores first with a one-out sac fly to RF. There are two outs with a runner on 3rd base in the bottom of the 4th.
