You guys know I am a stat freak, and I love this site.

Thru 9 games, LU allows the fewest runs per game in the nation and has the 5th best scoring margin.

Also, thru 9 games, we were one of only 9 undefeateds.

LU has won 42 straight games scoring 10 runs or more. The last team to beat LU after we scored that many was Coastal back in 2007

Wow, I missed this, but according to his "Nolan Power Index", we're NUMBER ONE in the country.

Awesome.

We're 42 in the USA Today poll this week. St. John's is 41. This will be a good weekend for us this week.

We didn't fall that far in the RPI and such due to this loss, because it's so early in the year, ODU went up for beating us as much as we went down for losing to them...

St. Johns plays UNC mid-week before facing us. A win over the Heels followed by a pair (or three) LU wins over the Red Storm and we'll be looking good, despite today's setback.

We moved up in the RPI with our win, CCU with a bad loss to Illinois today....

In last week's USA Today poll, others that received votes included St. John's (4) and Liberty (3).

Its baseball...not basketball or football. Even though a college season is still fairly short you are still going to have losses and this split doesn't hurt coastal nearly as much as losing to, say, Asheville. Considering who Coastal has beaten already and their SOS moving forward it really doesn't matter at all. At the end of the day its not going to affect their seeding in the NCAA tourny... Now if they lose 2-3 more against teams in that RPI/Quality range, then, they have a problem...right now, not a big deal.

That's why I said bad loss, not season ending loss. :P

We had a bad loss, too. We balanced it out with two good wins this weekend. Both CCU and LU are on a collision course for an epic showdown.

37 is about where I expected us to go to after last week's record.

Love the Warren Nolan site - can never get too many stats!

VMI's opponents are a combined 17-50 on the season. Their RPI is 167. They should enjoy the notoriety while they can. Kudos for winning the games so far, though.

Incidentally, Liberty's opponents are 59-60 overall.

Which means, if you take out the 2-11 that our opponents got from playing us, they have a winning record overall.
