Conference Play

The boys down in Conway beat #6 UC-Irvine twice today. They also have a loss to #30-something Kentucky.
No one else has any wins or losses that stand out. Winthrop has been at home and has beaten some average teams, a couple of close games against Wagner so far this weekend. LU, VMI, and WU are the only undefeateds.

:::cough cough::: as bad as UNCA is expected to be this year.... They arguable have the best win of the year (so far) outside if CCU's wins -- beating College of Charleston by 10 yesterday and the nearly beating them again today (lost 12-11).

Not sure how beating the 4th best team in the SoCon is worth tooting your horn about, but that's cool.
Especially losing two games to, arguably, the worst team in the A-Sun.
But, for UNCA, I guess one win over a decent team MIGHT be considered a groundbreaking win.

i'll be listening to the game today while watching Mercer play evansville with the gf. I love that Mercer has wifi at the field so i can just listen to the game while watching another one. I heart college baseball.

Winthrop is going to get tested this week, with a three-game set @ Texas A&M next weekend.

Coastal is good.
Coastal is really good.
If you're an on-campus student, you need to do whatever you can to stay around for graduation weekend for that series. It's gonna be a fun one.

She enjoys it. she likes basketball baseball and soccer... i'm still trying to get her to love football as much as i do.

VMI and LU are the only two undefeateds left, 2 of only 9 in the nation. Never before has LU started 10-0, and we've never been on a 10 win streak in the DI history of the program. Tuesday's home game against ODU can provide that 10th win...
Winthrop on a 3 game slide, losing 3 games at Texas A&M, #13 according to RPI, and 30th according to the polls.
High Point has swept FDU and Towson to move to 7-2, but one of the losses is to Elon.
No one else in the league sports a winning record.

Chuck South with an upset win over Florida today, taking 1 game of the 3 game series by a score of 6-3. Good job, Bucs.

Very nice indeed! The better the Big South looks as a whole the better our situation come tourney time. And I have to admit I didn't see the Bucs ever helping the cause.

High Point, VMI, CCU, Winthrop, and us are all doing very well so far, UNCA and CSU with some nice wins, as well. The conference is helping us out so far.

You jinxed it...UNCA with the great game against D2 Mars Hill today.... Why we are even scheduling D2 games is beyond me, but, yeah, pretty ugly...
