Good stuff, Chris. I appreciate this, that's for sure. Should be three more wins, but a loss to UNCW wouldn't be the end of the world. That being said, I like having Evans against their best pitcher so far this year. Linza against Lehigh seems unfair.

I'd be disappointed with a loss to Morehead or Lehigh. UNCW, at their place, in a close loss, would make me frown, but not kick things.

Nat Thompson was the man today with a game tying homer and a double to get us started. What is up with Carter Browning? He is supposed to be our closer but has struggled in his last 3 outings.

I don't think Carter was really slated to be the closer this year, pretty sure most projections had him as an 8th inning guy. But he only gave up one earned run in one inning of work on one hit... so you can't really fault him that badly here. His inning went K, Error, HR, Fly ball, Fly ball. Not really that terrible.
Regardless, we know he can do better than this. Other than that, good win for the boys. Morehead is a decent-solid team in the OVC, and hopefully the first of 3 this weekend.

Toman told me "closer by committee" when I talked to him earlier this month.

Which is the way it should be. Closers shouldn't just be closers because someone says so. Work the situation. Have three lefties coming up? Don't just put out a righty because he's a "closer".

I wasn't at the game today, but the word "pop up" can easily lead to "home run" today. The wind down here is absolutely terrible. It could've been a regular pop up that got blown out of the park.

LU is up 3-0 on Lehigh in the 3rd. Neufang with a 2 run bomb in the second, and Curran Redal with an RBI single in the 3rd.

T. Bream reached on an error to load the bases, and the Lehigh pitcher just walked home, then hit-by-pitch home, two runs. 5-0.

Keegan with another great start, going 7 innings, 4 hits, 1 run, 3 walks, 3 strikeouts.
Umberger in the game in relief in the 8th, LU up 6-1, but he plunks the first two batters.

Now he induces a double play ground ball, but Matt Williams with a throwing error on the way to first, and another run scores. 6-3 Liberty.

Josh put runners on first and second to start the inning, tying run at the plate, gets a K, then a double play, and the Flames win!
