No real shocks from my perspective.

I honestly don't think UNCA will finish dead last, but its certainly possible. I think that finishing 8th or 9th isn't an unreasonable expectation since they do have a couple arms and should theoretically at least be able to pick off a game a series... I'd expect more wins for us than last year....but they still have less TALENT than last years squad (which really didn't have a lot).
What intrigues me most is how much DAMAGE unca could do this year. Their RPI is going to be atrocious and a loss by WU/LU/CCU to UNCA would really hurt their chances of an at-large bid. And I think all three can at least make the argument they should make a run at an at-large. Nevermind that 3 wins against UNCA hurts your RPI, but a loss is downright awful .

I know you guys brought in a lot and bring back a lot but WU is re-loaded this year. Personally I would've slotted WU ahead of you guys but honestly I think its a coin-flip. And to be honest while Coastal is going to play a better non-conference schedule and so be up there in the polls, I see them slipping a bit. Right now at least, I see it being CCU as #1a and WU/LU as #1b. I wouldn't be surprised if those 3 are all within a game or two of each other going into the final weekend. Also wouldn't be surprised if the Big South is back to a two-bid league for NCAA this year. Should be a fun season to say the least.

I think there's a very solid chance at two bids this year...and an outside shot at three. The key for that to happen will be the upper half of the league playing well in OOC games and the top teams taking care of business against the lower half of the conference. WU is having to replace a lot of good bats, so I'm not surprised they are picked 3rd, but for the first time in a few years, I think WU's pitching will be deep/strong.

Liberty has a ton of experience coming back. That's what sets us apart preseason. Freshmen and transfers who played well last year have a full year under their belt under Toman. Combine that with top recruiting classes, and we're closer to #1 than #3 on paper. On the field? We'll see.

The conference has sent multiple teams to regionals before, and is perfectly capable of doing it again. We need LU,WU and CCU to do extremely well OOC, and the rest of the conference to do decently well OOC and we can definitely send two, possibly 3 teams.

It will also be interesting to see how Campbell does this season, since I know CCU's baseball coach was not happy about another conference school.
