DINWIDDIE - Even though it was still officially the fall season up until Saturday, the signs of winter were everywhere.

And even though the NCAA Football signing period is not until February, the remaining college sports have been snowed under with signings from student/athletes from the Central District.

Chris King, a senior at Dinwiddie who has played shortstop and pitcher for the Generals since his freshman year, has signed his NCAA Letter of Intent to play baseball at Liberty University.

King will join the Flames, who are coached by Jim Toman, following the 2010 high school season. Liberty posted a 35-26 record last season. Toman has always been known as a top recruiter especially going back to his days at the University of South Carolina where he was an assistant to Gamecocks coach Ray Tanner that took them to the College World Series several times.
