Flames have tied it at 3 with some help from some wild pitches by the Bucs pitching.

The guys edge out a win 5-4. Steven Evans gives up a run in the 9th but holds on for the win.
Glad to see we can win the close ones, not just the blowouts. Good to start the conference season with a W.

That's the second game he's closed of late. For someone who figured to be the Saturday or Sunday starter in the league, its quite a change to go to closer...especially for a LHP who doesn't throw 90.

I was there for the bottom of the 7th when we scored 2 runs but left the bases loaded on Bream's strikeout. Man, it was cold out there--I'd never seen so many hoodies and blankets in my life. No sign of HMO: figured he was in the sky box.

Now the game is tentatively set to start at 5 p.m., though they don't sound optimistic that the game will be played at all today.

That sucks... looking at a Sunday DH? Cuz Sunday isn't looking all that great, either...

Well then, I might see some baseball today after all. It is partly sunny and 55 as I'm driving between Abingdon and Wytheville.

Had no idea you're in the area. If they play...I may have to wonder out that way. BTW...time moved UP to a 230 start!

Now back to a 3 PM start. Weather still not looking real swift...even if the rain stops, the OF and around the backstop will be a swamp.
