New Stadium

They had the renderings of what the stadium is going to look like when they redo it on display during the Baseball Alumni dinner and at the game today. Barber, Goode, and Keys were all standing there, though, so i figured I probably wouldnt be able to get a picture of it.

But it looks pretty sweet. The Jeffersonian Pillars like Demoss in front for the entrance and they extend all the way down behind the seats along the 1st base line.

And, on the topic of the Alumni Baseball game, the MLBers can all still handle themselves. Bream got injured for a little bit but he was back out by the end. Guettermen somewhat still has his heat. Others, like my dad, who played that first year, have kind of lost their touch.

But Worthington is the man. Such a great guy. Great at Baseball, but on fire for the Lord. He gave a good talk last night at the dinner, and I was privileged to talk to him tonight during the game.

I'm assuming that the "new stadium" would be added on to the current stadium. Is that correct?

did they give a time frame on this? last I heard we were waiting for the money for it, and I can't remember if we need city approval for it or not but I would assume we do since they like to fight us on everything

Funding needs to be secured before anything can be started. Those who have been around for a while will remember the shell of the baseball fieldhouse was completed long before the insides were done. Even the FOC took time, as the initial blueprints were drawn back in 2000-2001.

I have the drawing of what the staduim is going to look like and it is beautiful. I will try to get it posted for you as soon as I can. I have had it for four or five months now and I am very excited about it. Liberty is finally upgrading the faclities to where they should be to compete at the top level.

I saw a drawing of the new stadium stapled inside the dugout yesterday. It looked like part of it was patterned after the Rotunda at UVa.

That's pretty awesome. Question: Will they reconfigure the field? I remember getting a tour of the luxury box at the CM Fieldhouse and you could only see the game from three chairs. Have they fixed that?

Also: Would we be able to host Big South Conference tournaments finally?
