Prototype;

I wish you the best. It sounds like LU Baseball is on it's way. Congrats on a great win over Tech.

I'm completly confused. Your post seems to say that I'm not thankful or I'm complaining. I'm the one defending the programs and the coach. Royer, who I know personally, is one of the nicest guys I have every met. I will admit he comes across unfriendly sometimes, but once you get to know him - you will find out he has a huge heart and passion to succeed at LU.

The whole turf argument - WHAT???? Why would baseball be practicing on the Football field turf - are you thinking of another coach - Karcher -Fottball or Alder - Soccer? You don't want me to start on Coach Alder - It couldn't be him - if their was an award for being positive - it would be his.

I'm still confused here - what is my name? where am I? Are we talking Liberty ir Longwood?

Lacrosse comment (Fastest growing sport?) I like lacrosse, but come on - Where did that Baseball stat come from. They still don't even play lacrosse in the south yet. And you comparing your growth to Baseball. That's like being proud that you are outselling Liberty Basketball on season tickets - no body plays baseball anymore in the states:)

OK--here's your sarcastic comment.
Lacrosse is now in the fast lane much like Soccer was 15 years ago
And we ALL KNOW how well soccer has done in the US.

Sorry Coach, I will have to respectfully (and ingnorantly, I must add) disagree with you. You should pray that LAX does better, does MUCH better than soccer has done.

Hold MyOwn is right.

Prototype, This is not Farmville or Longwood College. We all support LU Baseball but don't be so critical of us and Don't ever cut the Sport of Lacrosse down. Good luck in the 2006 season. Best of luck for the Big South Championships. I hope you can beat Winthrop this year they are tough.
Also I know Coach Alder and he would not run the lacrosse team off the field. He is a class guy.

I hear you AG. But it is doing better then Soccer in a lot of places. Some of the talent coming out of the South today is unreal. Being a Baltimore native I have never resepcted Southern Lacrosse players or Players from the west like California. But I got to tell you my sterotypes are fading away. These Southern kids can play almost as good as kids from Baltimore or Long Island and comand respect. This is because the game is really growing all over the place. Even out here in deslent New Mexico. We have a large group of little guys playing youth Lacrosse out here in Santa Fe. One of the reasons that the Club Teams are beating the NCAA Teams is because Title 9 has held the growth of Men's Lacrosse back and now that Talent that would end up on the NCAA Field is playing Club ball today. The sport has become bigger then the box some would want to put it in.

As much as it pains me, even around Central VA are some baseball players seeking the greener pastures of the LAX fields. The EC Glass baseball coach was quoted as losing at least two starters last year to their LAX team.

I think this thread has hit a sore spot with Prototype, as we are all passionate about certain aspects of LU athletics, and I admire him for defending his friend, and I admire you for defending your sport.

Wow - I might recommend some Prozac. You are all over the place. I'm not sure if you know who I am. I'm not the baseball coach or a coach at Liberty. I, like yourself, am a Liberty Alum. How many times have you been hit with the Lacrosse Stick? Talking down to you? I'm not sure when I spoke down to you - but OK - I wouldn't want you to come to my office and beat me with your Lacrosse stick - obviously Lacrosse players are a little unstable.

Lacrosse is a cool sport - you can quote me on that, but everything you wrote backs up my point. 20, 35, 10 in major cities are really not that many. And you can say all you want, I'm from Florida and am down there a lot. Lacrosse is still not big in Florida. Club teams beating NCAA teams? - who cares - it must not be that big if they all have club teams and not NCAA teams. And that tells you how bad lacrosse is outside of your Maryland’s, Syracuse’s, John Hopkins, etc... The same teams are in the final 4 every year - Go figure. Maybe because it's not that popular and there are only a few good schools.

You have to drop the whole sob story about Lacrosse. PLEASE. There are many programs that don't have budgets or scholarships, Have you every seen a Division III school? The truth is Baseball, Football, Soccer, Softball, Wrestling, Cheerleading, Debate or any other NCAA program should have first rights to an athletic field. Do you think Art Williams would want Baseball or Lacrosse practicing on his field? I'm sorry, Varsity (or Like I like to call NCAA) sports have to be given precedence over club teams - they help bring in revenue, and the school makes the most investment in them. Like it or not - it is reality. What do you think the intramural Fields are for????

I'm really not offended or upset or defending anyone inparticular - I'm just enjoying getting uder Lax's skin.

Lax - I really am kidding - I'm not upset. Just find it funny that you think I know nothing about Lacrosse - I'm from Tampa - Lacrosse is HUGE!!!!! I think my neighbir down the street had a stick... NOOOO that was a fishing net, but he used to throw stuff around in it - does that count??

It's all in fun.

He is talking about tracking me down and such, so I was just returning the humor.

I'm sorry to hear that he was on the Lacrosse Van - but know I traveled with Track at Liberty for 4 years in vans. Most the teams travel used to travel in vans.

Proto:

You know nothing about Lacrosse. I would recomend you to check out a High School Lacrosse game in the Orlando area before you judge America's oldest sport because you are lost. You have never been on a Lacrosse Field. But I would be happy to beat on some cocky person like you that thinks he knows everything. That my friend is not kidding around. Also do some research and check out the program at Florida State they are ranked 4th in the nation and they are beating NCAA Teams. There website Again is http://www.fsulacrosse.com/ . The game really is big in Florida and you should give it a little credit. Like I said earlier the game is much bigger now then the box people like you want to put it in.

I'm sorry I had you mixed up for one of the coaches at LU because of your relationship with the LU Baseball Coach.

Great win, today. As I have vowed to not mention the schedule--but this is a pretty legit team that took 2 of 3 from VCU.
