Here is an out of the box candidate...simply because I've googled my fingers to the bone trying to find Christian coaches from big time schools in the SEC and ACC.

JK37 You are so far from the truth or the facts. I let it go the first time you said it. But now you are way out of line. Randy Tomlin and Jeff Barber have a great relationship. As do their wives, and their children. You are better off staying on the Basketball thread! You know nothing. Jeff and Randy have talked several times over the weekend, and over the pasts months. The judge tried to pull the same line on the first thread last week. The only issues that Jeff may have with Randy is probably over a canceled golf game. I asked Barber myself.

On a better and more encouraging note, I want everyone on here to go up on www.potomacnationals.com , and look in the middle section and click on the headlines of Unlikely source keeps p-nats clubhouse loose. Please take time to read this. There is also a great picture in the slide show to the left. I wonder how many feel the same way.

Dont' really know anything about him, but was Big South Coach of the Year, and took Charleston Southern to a regional a while back before leaving to be recruiting coordinator and pitching coach at Georgia. He was in his first season as pitching coach at Texas Christian University, and has been at Tennessee, ECU.

Kno: Your allegiance, by whatever means it was established (NCAA-illegal family dinners, et. al.), shines through far too much. I really haven't got a card of preference in the pursuit of this coaching vacancy. I was simply stating what I know from the inside of the department and the team. Players? No. Too many of them can't be trusted after asking Mommy and Daddy to make phone calls to JB and MG.

What I will say is that this move, I believe, is a good one for the program. Allow me to explain why:

A year ago and against the encouragings and wishes of the one he answered to, JB gave MR a chance. I repeat, JB's superior wanted him to make a move THEN. Instead, MR was permitted to lay out a plan for program improvement, to which JB agreed. When they met last week, it was shown to MR that the plan had not been followed. He was given the choice to resign. Unlike RD did when he was given the same option, MR accepted. A big part of MR is probably relieved; he's now got a paid year to make his next move! (Though the issue of taking him off health insurance with a pregnant wife is probably a sore spot.)

I repeat that I have no preference as to who gets the job. My allegiances lie, as they always will, with my good ol' Flames in every sport! For now, I believe EVERYTHING JB has done has proven effective, thus far.

you're right guys. Stuff like that should've been left to PM and such. I've received pm's, too, about my connection to the department comment. I meant A department, not LU's, as well as some of my coaching friends on the mountain and at the school. I could have been mistaken in what I said, and I probably shouldn't have been so forthright. I failed to see how my wording would be perceived. It boils down to me repeating things a few friends of mine had said. I've since heard the same friends say things that may have made me look foolish. If its untrue, correct me. I only and always want what's best for LU Athletics.

Watch it now...our tennis coach is definitely going to take us to the next level in tennis. We've already landed one girl (Jordan Jenkins) who was recruited by Georgia Tech...ranked #6 at the time and also the 2007 National Women's Tennis Champions. We will also have some changes in players on the men's side as well. Our coach is committed to taking us out of the Big South (and thus, national) cellar.

PS-I know you were kidding, but I gotta defend the man...he's a great guy and has been extremely good to me ever since I started working with him at the Hillcats 4 years ago.
