I re-read your post and interpret it perfectly. It WOULD be a novel idea to let the AD actually be the AD.

Flamer, you do not yet realize your importance. You have only begun to discover your power. Join me, and I will complete your training. With our combined strength, we can end this destructive conflict and bring order to FlameFans.

My only post on the Dr Who theme, is that SciFi channel is starting a new Dr Who series this month.
That is all I will say about the greatest cult Sci Fi series of all time

You guys are killing me. A lot of you must not know much about these coaches. Coach Royer is a great coach - we have a great team, great players, and there all mostly young kids that Royer brought in. The problem is pitching. Our lineup is comparable to Winthrop and CCU's, but pitching is the problem. Our pitching is young and inexperienced - but seems to be talented. I like Tomlin, but he is not a head coach. If he was, he would be one, at LU or somewhere else. He's a great pitching coach.

To even hint that Royer should be re-evaluated is ludicrous. We just had the most division 1 wins in the history of the program and we are only getting better. Competition? Come on - If a LU teams play a tough schedule like MBB last year and we don't win all of them, everyone cries about how bad the team is and how we need to play some schools we can actually compete with, then Baseball plays a couple games against teams out of the top 25 and there is an outcry for a coach's job. The baseball schedule is not that easy this year - we are starting into a pretty tough section - I'm glad that coach scheduled some winnable games in the beginning of the year to give a young team some confidence.

Coaching at Liberty is amazing. Say all you want about Dr. Falwell - he knows what he is doing. Every coach at Liberty is a great coach and have great credentials. There are not many Universities that have the coaches on staff like LU. Be patient and enjoy the success those student athletes are having on the baseball team. Nothing like working your tail off and then hearing that your fans are down playing a win because it was a win over a smaller school - a win is a win.

And this is not because I do work for Liberty - It's because I'm a LIBERTY Fan.

anything negative I've said on here I've gotten from the players, I believe AG is in the same boat....people used to think it was only the players that weren't playing and then learned it's the majority of the team....sometimes it's not about the wins and losses, bottom line, if you win and only 1 or 2 players walk away from the program happy, then it's not a successful program

AG you would be glad to know Coach did mention the Strength of Schedule today at Flames Club

Do players really have to have a coach that's a best friend? That is what this comes down to. Players want a coach who will treat everyone like royalty and like he owes them something. Aren't most student athletes getting assistance with their education? Aren't these players getting the opportunity to get noticed for Pro Ball? Haven't the numbers been good, even during the Royer Regime, of LU players getting drafted or playing pro ball? It is a Head Coach's job to win and teach. We had a coach here for many years before Pastors and you know - no player like him either. But you know what - they were successful. Pastors was the coach - they were successful too, but had a lot of internal issues that I can't go in to - if you were around the program - you know.

From what I see - Royer works hard and is dedicated to his players. If the players can't see that - then their not looking. At Liberty it is not all about coaching. A lot of the coaches have to do more administrative duties as well. It's hard to find the perfect situation - just be happy this guy cares about LU and winning games.

I believe HMO's point is more of a problem, which I have heard, too, about misrepresentation of what LU is and is all about. Players being very dissatisfied with the overall atmosphere. Perhaps coach is now getting the RIGHT type of players, the players that buy into both his way and the Liberty Way. If that is the case, then my hat's off to him for righting the ship, and perhaps we can then bury this thread.

I dont agree Proto...I'm not saying anything about being their best friend...in fact I rather they not be...There isnt one player that is good friends with Coach Knight while playing for him yet they all still can walk away from the program with a good taste in their mouths (not all)....but if he was as dedicated as mentioned then I beleibe that he would allow for players to enter his office and discuss things such as the players future in baseball or in business....he should be encouraging players to reach for their dreams of pro ball not otherwise

Great points and I agree with them all. However, I may have an issue with this one. But that is the dark side speaking

Hey Morons, we just beat the crap out of Virginia Tech, I mean beat them to pieces. We are now 11-3 here's an idea, give the guy credit and just Shut Up and let the man do his thing... I have been reading this thread for a while and just wish that some of you idiots would just Shut Up. I can not believe after the CRAPPY and I mean God awful Football and Men's basketball season that you people would even open your mouth about Coach Royer. I mean the only people that you guys have not asked to examined is your ownseleves. It's truly amazing how stupid some of you people are. With that Go Flames!!!

That was indeed a BIG win today....the team really looked good.....and like Coach said at the Flames Club, even though the first part of the schedule isn't all that strong this part right now is not so bad...so hopefully we'll continue to win & convincingly

I, too, will get off his case (for now). I reserve the right to start the fray back up at a later date, though.
Now, Cowboy,
about that OTHER problem you have.

After what we as fans experienced in football and mens hoops we have no reason at all to complain about the teams lousy schedule. This team is really hitting their stride right now with the win over VA Tech.

I dont mean to speak for AG but I think the NSOS rating of 243 out of 293 listed isnt his main concern....but whatever I guess he can speak for himself!

13-1 - Must be doing something right. They can be great individual players but I got news for everyone - great players mean great recruiting (Royer), great defense mean great coaching (Royer), playing great small ball normally means great base coaching (Royer), Winning 13-1 over ACC Virginia Tech, starting 11-3 must mean that Royer is not that bad. Now lets put this subject to bed and just get out and support them. Nothing like watching a baseball game outside in the Spring.

I would love to come out and see some games but I can't believe what ROYER is doing with the weather!! I mean if he REALLY cared about the program and community outreach you would think he could spend a few extra minutes when scheduling, look at the 6 - 9 month forecast and do a better job scheduling the games on nice days!! Perhaps it is his commitment to the Liberty Way? If he REALLY bought into the mission statement, don't you think he would have some pull upstairs with the weather? I bet OTHER coaches would!!
