after seven, tied 1-1..........a Wimmer HR in the 7th ties it, LU pitchers have "scattered" nine hits so far.....and LU 0-3 in SB attempts.
kdinva wrote:Liberty and Chuck South, scoreless after five innings.......quick game, exactly 60 minutes to complete these five innings.......

Flames take a 2-1 lead going to the ninth.......with Close on 3rd, a Perritt bunt single got him home......and Perritt takes the mound for the save attempt.

I know he got burned but his exact words were he might as well have fired rocco than make than kick asa off. So if hes going to fire toman and barber wont do it he would have to fire both right haha. Another lackluster hitting effort today. Perrit wimmer and roy seem to be the only guys really grinding it out. Perritt is mvp of this season to me. Hes a straight spark plug

Yeah. These two situations aren't even remotely close to one another.

Couldnt disagree more. Both clearly involve the chancellor having to override the ad and/or coach. I dont want to get off in this whole mess. Jb really is in a tough spot. I dont know what tomans win percentage is but its gotta be pretty high. Its not easy to pull the plug on those numbers even if the schedules were soft. I dont think toman was a failure, i just think hes taken us as far as he can. Sometimes change is better for everyone

And that's pretty much where it ends. Unless there is a convicted felon with outstanding warrants who was suspended and reinstated without prior vetting on the baseball team of which I am unaware?

Barber said "it's about more than wins and losses" when he got rid of Dunton. He set a precedence then that winning percentage isn't the end all be all at Liberty. Everyone who knows anything about this program knows that Toman has no place being the coach at Liberty. It's just a matter of will the athletic director make a move with his friend.

In the real world of Sport and Business there are countless stories of Friends having to fire Friends. I would hope if it came to that the concerned parties could put on their big boy pants and move on.

JB is only in a tough spot if he can't be a true professional and separate professionalism with personal friendships. I am in a position now where I am supervising people I have been friends with for years. Sometimes they do something in a way that isn't appropriate. I correct them professionally and we are still cool personally. Sure, its not always easy, but he has to be able to be able to make the tough calls if he wants succeed at this level and higher for that matter.

Hate to break it to you, but JB has already been very successful at this level and a higher level. He has done a tremendous job so far at LU. I am sure when the dust settles, there will be a discussion and the right thing will be done. JB and Toman may be great friends, but when all is said and done, it is a business and I am confident that any decision made will be made with the best interest for LU as the priority.

This is not aimed at postman, but I have to say this is the most immature thread that I have read on the FF. I am not defending Toman or anyone else here, because I don't really care about anything, but what is best for LU. But the personal attacks here and silly comments, on a public forum are very funny on one hand but seriously sad in reality. My .02. :)
