Adam Parks goes three innings allowing one run for the win. Five Flames finish with two hits including Trey Wimmer, who had the big blow in the third with a two run triple

Good stuff. Good job to the guys. Knew we'd probably sweep it, but it's another thing to actually get it done.

I´m not sure what other sports we may have faced PSU in over the years, but between baseball and WBB, I believe we are 4 and 0!

Trey Wimmer certainly DID have himself a series Jon...5-6 today, 4 runs scored 4 RBI, on the weekend 6-9, drove in six runs and had the big hit in two of the three wins and had a stolen base on Saturday

I called it before the series started. I am from South Carolina. South Carolina had the national title in baseball in 2010,2011. They finished as runner ups last year. Trust me this was a great South Carolina team that Liberty played. After I saw how they competed I knew that Liberty must have a great team also. This could be a special season.

Great job by the Flames with the sweep.

I also noticed that the ball did not carry well. This is probably due to weather right now. As for bunting, that adds excitement to the game in my opinion. I love bunting/base stealing.

As for the music, after the national anthem, stadium doesn't need it in my opinion. granted I am a minority in this thinking, but I despise music and dog/pony shows at baseball games. (football, basketball also)

When I go to a game in any sport, I go to see the game. I also enjoy conservation with other fans, but it's hard to converse and hear because the PA system is blaring music or some other un-needed chatter 99% of the time. Everytime there's a dead ball/stop in action, the PA has to make noise of some type. I dream of going to a college game one day where the PA system is not working.

I went to 2 games this weekend and bought season tickets.

Many students are turning out, some of whom appear to have never watched a baseball game before. I overheard these questions this weekend from female fans talking to their boyfriends:

1. Where are the CHEERLEADERS???
2. How many fouls does it take to get make an out?

My only complaint of the stadium is that the scoreboard blocks the magnificent view of the Blue Ridge Mountains: I would have located it in right field to block the view of LUO.

I had that thought too from the pictures but didn't know if it was different in person.

It will play essentially the same way it did at Worthington. During the cool months, the northwest winds will eat the ball. As we get into April and May, anything hit will carry just like it used to. Same wind direction, same wind speed.

Youll still have to crush the ball to clear to dead center (very few balls got out even at the old stadium to that part of the park). I posted the distances already and even in the warm months your best bet will be down the lines if you want to put one out. You could sneak one over in the alleys as well

Because the hill blocked the southern winds from getting the ball, below a certain elevation in the stadium. This shouldn't be the case anymore but we'll see.

Its 395 to straightaway but you'd probably have to hit it about 420 to clear the batters eye since there isn't a gap that I can see in front of it.

BJ, Anything above the line at the top of the wall would be a HR. Looking at the construction pics on the other thread, I feel like there is probably a small setback between the wall and the batter's eye as well, but the line at the top is, well, the line, for determining HR or not.
