A couple years later??? You need to refresh your memory. It was a couple DAYS later.

I just hope Barber does the right thing here. Admit you made a mistake here and let him walk... If he goes to jerry and asks for more money to keep him that would be a mistake and I doubt jerry would do that - he's a very bright guy and knows what Toman's all about. There's no worries that barber can't find a good coach to come here and build a program with a great budget, a great campus and with great support from admin.

I think Maryland is a good fit for him - no rules, great conference and low expectations. He's got a great pitcher coming into the program from Matt royer's state contending high school team in pa and he is good... What was the chance of that happening...

It has rarely been Liberty's MO to pony up cash to match an offer from another school. I can only think of 1 instance where that was kinda sorta the case. Liberty will go spend to bring someone in though.

No, he made that statement AFTER SC left and just DAYS before he left himself.

Oh, well, he made it when he first came to Liberty as a coach.

I was in basic training when all the drama happened with Seth Curry so I have no idea how it all went down.

I just remember RM press conference when he first got to Liberty

Is Rocco still here? Had he been courted/offered by another school?

Purple, I'm not sure how serious the courtship was, but Rocco certainly made message boards at Marshall, until they lowered their standards and hired a WVU coach.

But was offered by neither. If you are thinking of walking Liberty will let you walk. Sort of like the Pirates! (trying to keep it baseballY)

Point taken. I'm not sure we boosted his pay because of it.

Just need to lighten up here, as this is basically child's play compared to the last years of other famous coaches. I'm sure Liberty Employees are putting together the Red Toman Tonka Truck Lottery for when he leaves.

Maryland is a sinking ship if I ever saw one. Just had to cut 6 sports. Doesn't surprise me if that is true Jon, they can't afford to pay anything. Liberty on the other hand, the potential is limitless here.
