I should shut my mouth before I say something stupid.
The 5-8 GW Bulldogs beat UNC as well. Baseball is all about being ready for the conference games and we are currently 10-7 in 4th place in the Big South.
Come on man. Put a little love in your heart.
OK we continue to be in first place for athletic image spins and numerous are willing to swallow it as fact.

Parm was going on that crucial 1st and 3rd in the 8th and Gilmore relayed the pickoff play in to the catcher, i saw it from 10 feet away. That running on the first pitch stuff every single time doesn't work against the elite teams.

That really hurt. The batter gets a hit and it is a one run game. After he got picked off it took the crowd out of the game which was silent most of the night.

No matter how you dice it CCU has lost about 16 games from BSC schools since the last time we beat them, 15 games ago. We are normally the 2nd best team in the conference but can manage a win aginst them? They have had our our number but we need to get a win today before the tourney. We need someone to step up today.

Jinxy, to answer your question on Smith ... Toman put him in to pinch hit and he didn't even see a pitch before Parmley was picked off, so he said he couldn't take him out at that point. On the one ball that was hit his way, Toman said Smith was running at about 50 percent and was fortunate that the ball didn't go to the gap because he would have had no chance at it. Toman wanted Smith to have another chance to hit in the bottom of the ninth should a big opportunity present itself.

Those hamstring injuries are tricky, hard to heal and easy to re-injure if they're not 100 percent ready. It's on Smith now to decide when he's confident enough in the leg that he's ready to go full bore. He doesn't want a strain to turn into a full tear that would put him out for a long time, which is completely understandable. Defense and baserunning are the biggest concerns right now for him.

Thanks Chris, i figured that was the case. I thought you could still be subbed if needed but i guess it's more of he wanted that last AB. He tracks the ball so well in center field though. I'm not sure Cordell or anyone else we would put there would have made the play. I wonder why he won't move Parm back to center and leave cordell in right then play grauer or whoever in left. CF and RF seem to get most of the action, i guess we pitch guys outside a ton.

I don't want to belittle Toman, his players have to perform and they just aren't. Since the 16 and 1 start were 17 & 13, very mediocore.

Their pitching overwhelmed our bats. They have a phenomenal ERA considering the caliber of schedule they've played.

As obvious as this sounds, superior pitching beats superior hitting every day of the week. I am seriously over losing to Coastal so darn much...Id chalk it up as a huge win even if they were 1-39 like Coppin State is now

We have seriously hit a brick wall and it's very disappointing. We still have two big south series left so we can move up in the standings. The upcoming break after our next game Wednesday comes at a good time. We can put the at-large talk to rest, we have to win the big south tournament and that will be a tall order if it was next week. Coastal is still the king and they proved it this weekend.

The overachieving of the early season may be over, but there are still some really good positives and time to get hot again.

Matt Royer was 3-3 in his last two season against Coastal. They swept a huge late season series verse #2 Winthrop lose to Coastal in the a great 4-3 game for the NCAA bid....again athletic performance takes a step backwards under JB. We have seen it in MBB, BB maybe when it hits home in FB the problem will be obviously to some of you who don't draw your salary from athletics and have gotten use to the unmatched budgets and awesome facilities JLFjr provides for athletics(the entire campus). Image spins won't get it done at these levels. 0-17 speaks for itself.

Bear in mind our best hitter has been on the shelf since game 20. Not having Andy Smith hurts as well. That's probably our two best pure hitters on the team not available for large chunks of the season. Aanderud went 0 for the series, our current best hitter and that certainly didn't help this weekend.

While this weekend was embarassing i remember royer taking our squad out to arizona and we lost 64 to 3 in 3 game series if you want to cherry pick stats. After watching the last few weeks im still not 100 percent sure toman is the best guy for the job but im 200 percent sure royer wasnt the best guy
