Another inning in the 4th where neither team did anything so it remained 4-1 until the top of the 5th.

Eagles couldn't score a run on a double play when they had runners on the corners and nobody out.

Winthrop - 1
Liberty - 4

Top of 5th

I saw the runner and the field ump talking after the play and didn't know what it was. Bomberger came over and told us what exactly happened though.

Runner on first went in headfirst at our shortstop. They called him out and then called runner's interference which makes it a dead ball and the batter is out. That sent the runner on third back to third.

Hudak got rung pretty quickly. He's been chirping all game.

magnificant perfromance by steven evans. i would have liked to see us save some of evans arm, but hey a great win, the 40th of the season and we keep moving on. any of the more baseball savvy people explain why not go to the bullpen, or since evans was so on, you just leave him in?

The game breakdown is off on the post from bigsouthsports. Everything resets (i.e. game #'s) once the double elimination starts. It SHOULD read like this going forward

And so the Panthers it will be tomorrow evening. HPU held off the Highs, 10-8 tonight.

In all likelihood, four of the eight teams in the tourney will have been eliminated by the time we take the field. A victory over HPU puts us in GREAT position.

Nope. A win over HPU would put us playing CCU at 3:00 on Friday. The winner of that game would go directly to the championship game. The loser would play an elimination game at 7:00 to get to the championship.

That would be assuming CCU doesn't have a slip-up as well. Obviously that would be a shocking development that most of us don't take very seriously.
