Phillips just homered. Now up 10-7. Can we hold them? That is the question.

What was it for?

I fully did not expect to see us win a game at Coastal. They hadn't lost a single weekend game at home this year. They're ranked 15th in the RPI and are pretty high up in all of the polls.

Liberty Plates Three Runs in 12th Inning for 10-7 Victory over No. 19 Coastal Carolina
April 27, 2007
Conway, S.C

Liberty’s David Giammaresi singled home the go ahead run and Aaron Phillips later connected for a two-run home run, as the Flames scored three times in the 12th inning, for a 10-7 win over the No. 19 Coastal Carolina Chanticleers in the first game of a three-game Big South series at Charles Watson Stadium, Friday night.

Its really something how we get to the starting pitchers for Coastal. Oh and as a side note, there was a release yesteday on BigSouthSports.com where it mentioned how Andy DeLaGarza of Coastal was on the Howser Award Watch list (top 50 players in the country) then he promptly goes out and gives up 6 runs all earned in 6 1/3 innings. Then Bobby Gagg the starter today, 5 2/3 innings 6 runs all earned

Could be a credit to how we are playing right now. If we can be this competitive against a team like Coastal and some of the fine pitchers they have.
