McInvale goes to the mound to start the 7th having thrown 101 pitches. It would be great to have him get through this inning. If Brabrand only needs to go 2, he can probably come back in a couple of days.

We get the win 6-4. McInvale with the win and Brabrand gets his 12th save. Evan pitched 3 innings, but only needed 25 pitches, so he should be good to go again by Friday.

Got pulled into a meeting unexpectedly so missed most of the game. I was getting nervous there for a while. I'm glad Evan only needed 25 pitches in those 3 innings.

He should be good for tomorrow if needed.

Possibly, but I don't think Jackson has used him 2 days in a row all year, regardless of pitch count. Of course, it's the tournament, so he may have a different set of rules now.

It's the tournament. He can can probably go another 2 innings. If he does I imagine he would be unavailable for Friday.

Lipscomb is up 3-0 over Jacksonville in the second inning. Liberty took 2 of 3 from the Bisons in the regular season and lost 2 of 3 to Jacksonville. THe Flames took 2 of 3 from Stetson outscoring them 27-10 after losing 3-2 in the first game

Did anyone see the play where umpires said LU outfielder did not catch a short fly ball, allowing 2 runs to score ?

Was it a catch ?

I didn't see it, but Nick Pierce, who had super slo-mo replay in the booth, said it was a catch every time they replayed it. It's absolutely ridiculous that they did not work things out so they could have instant replay for the conference tournament.

Ballcoach's #1 go-to source said it was absolutely a catch, and all the umpires blew the call.

Nick was watching the ESPN + which seemed to show he caught the ball. Was shown several times in replay via ESPN+ whose commentators agreed with Nick. Looked like a catch to me bit the ump was a little closer to the play than I was. Shame they weren't set up for replay with the stakes so high for each team!

Braband is available for an inning tom. Would be good to stay away from him. One thing to remember. None of these teams have seen meyer. If memory serves me correct lipscomb had rh power. May need to go adametz if its them. Ideally you get through tom using starter price and riley.

Lineup wise we are patient and getting on base a ton but failing to drive in risp. Id like to see us try this. Betts locklear embry wagner galazin mathieu highfill rorher guy. This does 4 things.

Splits up rh and lh so they cant match us up reliever wise
Puts speed 3 spots in a row 9 thru 1
Gives our best hitter embry more rbi opportunites.
Puts galazin and mathieu in more rbi opportunities as well and they have been great with risp going oppo and up the middle.

Lipscomb & Jacksonville going into extra innings in a game that is already over 4 hours old. Be nice if they go another 9. :D

Jacksonville gets some extra rest time as LU and Jacksonville don't square off until 7pm. I am sure they will take all the rest that they can get. Here is the game times shared earlier this morning by the ASun

At their age rest should't be a factor except maybe catcher. I was hoping that they would go a long time so as to burn as many arms as possible.

At age 33, I pitched 6 slow pitch games in one day. Only had 5 minute break between games. Temperature that day hit 103.

How do we win the conference cup trophy now? I know FGGU took the lead when they won the regular season. What do we have to do in this tournament to get it back?

Yeah. Similar arm tension in both a slow pitch delivery and a baseball delivery

FGCU going two and out helps us, but like I said before, we lost 2 of 3 to Jacksonville in the regular season so we need to get the job done tonight and we will be able to preserve arms for Friday and Saturday. Id go with Adametz or Meyer tonight and if we win go with Skirrow on a short leash Friday, especially if Stetson wins over Lipscomb tonight because that would be a 2-0 showdown on Friday if that were the case.
