Without even checking a box score, as soon as I saw that TorC posted, I knew we LOST.

yeah, just waiting on trot, and it completes the list of TOOLS who only post when we lose. As chippy said their relievers beat ours and as soon as we gave up the lead you could see that wind come out of the sails. That is definitely on the coaches to keep the guys up, but the players need to take some of that responsibility too. We still have two games left and we hit their ace pretty good last night. we just need to finish.

Wait wait wait. It's up to the coaches to keep the players up?

If your players can't get up for a game against a team the whole university apparently hates, then that's on the players 100%. Not the coaches.

This is an excellent team, but we have to find a way to stop stranding so many runners on base if we are ever gonna win the really big games. I think we get this one today with Niggli on the hill.

The players need to MANUP when they lose a lead late in the game. Take pride in not letting down your team mate on base for you and know that your other team mate will take care of his responsibilities

I'll put it on Toman when I think he deserves it....Lord knows he's got the shoulders for it :D

let me clarify.coaches encourage, that is what they do. i was at the game and have been at most every home game and even some on the road. when coastal took the lead it looked like the guys lost their dog and that wpuld have been pefect to see some encouragement from the coaches. it would also be nice to see the captains get the guys going. that dugout was very quiet. does that make better sense? when coastal was down early their dugout was quiet but the players were getting hyped and gilmore was pumping them up. bottom line, LU still cannot getover the hump, but their are tow more games to go in this series.

If the players continue to recognize this "hump" then it will stay. We've beat 2 quality ACC teams this year... one of them from Carolina. We can beat this team from Carolina, as well.

Yes, Tyler was nearly unhittable .. that was quite a performance. He kept a strong crowd of ~2,800 quieted.

I can't understand this team. We beat UVA and UNC, then go lose both times to VCU, 2 out of 3 to Asheville, and going .600 in conference play.

I should shut my mouth before I say something stupid.

Just let the team do the talking.

You know they say in baseball there's a way to break out of slumps....

But we have enough controversy with a commencement speaker, I could only imagine what it would be like for this to happen!

It really hasn't been managing the last few days, just players not getting the job done. The only questionable decision was if Andy is healthy enough to pinch hit and be a def. replacement why can't he start. We really need him in that 2 hole and he's a plus fielder as well.

Parm was going on that crucial 1st and 3rd in the 8th and Gilmore relayed the pickoff play in to the catcher, i saw it from 10 feet away. That running on the first pitch stuff every single time doesn't work against the elite teams.

Finally, i think the Herb kid threw well but i think our hitters had a lot of terrible AB's that allowed him to stay deep in the game. He was behind in 75% of the at bats and still managed to beat us because we've got too many guys trying to hit solo bombs rather than get baserunners. Not taking anything away from him, he did what he had to do. I just think we aided him when he was really fairly erratic.

The 5-8 GW Bulldogs beat UNC as well. Baseball is all about being ready for the conference games and we are currently 10-7 in 4th place in the Big South.
