Serious intensity from the middle of the game on. The umpiring association should be embarrassed by the guys working the game tonight. A couple of points of clarification - 1) Ryan Cordell was thrown out - he had to leave the dugout before the game resumed and 2) their pitcher, who should have gotten out of the way when our players ran onto the field, was elbowed by one of our guys as they were heading towards Sizemore.

It will be interesting to see if there are additional suspensions after the league reviews the tapes as there were a few swings in the middle that were not caught. Does anyone know the automatic suspension rule for the Big South? I assume Cordell will be out for at least game 1 tomorrow but hopefully that is it.

Agree with the comments on the Campbell fans - they were out of control the entire game.

Let's get two tomorrow! Interesting that our RPI jumped spots to 74 with the win - with 50% of the RPI being your opponents record, two more games against Campbell and their stellar record should help a little more.

Cordell and Campbell player erick Gaylord were ejected. I looked through the big south by laws and it appears it's a one game suspension.

He clearly threw a punch at Gaylord and the umpires saw it. Gaylord also took a swing. That's why those two were tossed.

Replay is still on ESPN3. Alot of solid baseball plays if you want to watch the entire game but here are a few situations that are worth watching:

Toman's argument in the top of 7th
Their coach going crazy in the top of 7
Bench clearing in bottom of 9
Walk-off hit and their pitcher going crazy after we run into him

One thing that has been somewhat lost in all of the excitement - Campbell has a physically strong, solid baseball team. At this point a sweep would be great and while the at large berth puts crazy pressure on the guys to win every game, a series win against them is a nice weekend.

The thing that impressed me most about Campbell is how they manufacture runs. They play excellent small ball. With that being said I thought our guys did what they needed to do to win. This is Niggli's second straight sub par outing and that is concerning.

A good and solid win for the Flames last night. They could have laid down; but fought back and got the "W". ESPN3 did a good job of covering the game and all the craziness that went on.

The announced crowd was 300 and change, and from the ESPN3 feed, you could hear lots of cursing in the background, which I hope ALL came from Campbell.

There were 30 to 40 Campbell fans there . . .they were obnoxious the whole game. Loud, rude, and like I said obnoxious. On the umps the whole game . . .got out of their seats to get a close up with the umps. The Campbell bench was warned @ 6th inning for giving the first base ump a lot of lip shortly after he called one of their players out on a pick off (there was no argument at the time of that play). Aren't they also a "Christian" university?

Any of their fans get ejected? If not I call that a double standard!

Well we need to do a better job of game operations then. There's a easy solution to this, alcohol is not allowed on campus so if a staffer thinks this is happening then get LUPD to monitor the parking lots.

The catcher should be suspended for a series at least. Total bush league.

The pitcher should honestly be punished by the school. Yes he didn't throw a pitch, but that's total classless crap. Glad to know he represents an "Christian" university. I would HOPE our guys would be benched if we acted that way.

Good weekend indeed! 5 errors inthe nightcap certainly hurt and we nearly won it when the Campbell left fielder robbed tyler cox of a near homer or at least extra bases which we would have scored.

5 errors and 3 unearned runs did us in and yes, thought Cox's shot was gone. He got no elevation after hitting it on the button and they were already playing deep to prevent extra bases. Oh well! We are fortunate to have HPU and Coastal here after having Campbell at home as well.

A tough one to loss with the errors. Even so it should have been over but the CU outfielder made a heck of a catch. Glad we got the series but would have been nice to get the sweep.
