Also this may be a stupid question but im just now getting into college baseball but why were both games 7 innings

Big Smooth is correct; they agreed to play 7 inning games today because of the threat of rain. They agreed to it yesterday and even announced it in today's newspaper. The 7 inning games turned out to be a good idea; it started to get cold and rainy on the way home. Hopefully, the game will be "on" for tomorrow.
