I haven't seen the level of recruits I thought we would get when Toman took over. At this point I guess we can hope we take the rest of the series this weekend.
Hey, what's new? We have high expectations for every team in every sport and are often disappointed, that's what fans do. I have tried to dial back my level of expectation to semi-reasonable, (not my enthusiasm or support), it is definitely a work in progress.

finally got a quality start for the first time this season. Richardson comes on rock solid again. Were going to have to have the pitching carry us until the bats wake up, if we have them. The thign is with Jefferson in there that's atleast 5 or 6 guys taht can hit, we shouldn't be this anemic

I look at this way. Let's get a win tomorrow. I mean, bottom line, winning on the road isn't easy. There's plenty of new guys on this team and it's going to take some time for it all to come together. It will soon.

I love Jeff, and I would like to see him get some more ABs, but he is 1-10 for the season. Wish he could play CF, or wish we could move Mike Rob to CF.

Looks like we found a solid 3rd or 4th starter - Niggli is pitching great!

Robertson hits a 2 run homerun. Flames up 7-1 in top of the 6th.

Niggli threw the crap out of it today. I love a guy that will attack guys with fastballs. You don't have to throw 93 to be effective. Rasmus called a great game with him.

That's for sure!
Question: What is Parmley's natural position? I am hoping CF. We aren't getting anything offensively or defensively there so far. Do you have any insight?

Guess the question just got answered: He is in CF in the 9th inning.

jefferson is 1 for 10 but so are a lot of other guys that have played. jefferson's 1 hit is a HR and he gives that ability to extend the lineup. I don't think he has ever gotten enough Consistent AB"s in his career to see...when he was a couple years ago he was hitting around .300 with 7 HR's a month into the season when he got hurt. Who are we going to throw Wednesday? Timmy Dudley, Swanson? Beak? This is another huge game for us. Glad we got some offense going finally.

I agree with your comment about some of the other guys. Our production from CF and 1B has been non-existent. No idea about Wednesday's pitcher. I'm actually not sure of Dudley's health status; he hasn't pitched an inning yet this year.

i was just thinking that maybe just maybe we aren't completely toast yet. It looks like we have more pitching depth than we normally have. If Evans and Forslund come around i think we potentially could have the deepest pitching staff we've had in a while. Not sure we have a true ace but it looks like we have about 7-8 guys that we can rely on once we get going. Also, Coastal doesn't look to be nearly as dominant as they were last year. The only problem is we don't have a lot of time and Wednesday's game should be another big early season test.

I agree, and I am confident that Evans will. I am just surprised so far that he hasn't pitched his way out of some of the jams we have put him into with poor defense. He did that last year.

I haven't seen Forslund throw, but everyone who has says that he is the "real deal", so that makes me hopeful. If Niggli and Linza are consistent, and the mainstays in the bullpen do their jobs, we should have a good staff. If Swanson contributes, that would be an awesome bonus.

Can't wait to see us play - Friday for sure, and looking for a way to "sneak" out to watch on Wednesday!
