To my understanding, if anyone other than Liberty or Coastal wins the Big South Tournament it becomes a huge detriment to Liberty's chances of making the Regional. I think it is better to have Coastal Carolina beat HPU and just about eliminate any chance of HPU winning the Big South. HPU would than have to beat Liberty tonight and beat Coastal Carolina twice.

If HPU beat Coastal Carolina Liberty would have to beat the Chanticleers and beat High Point twice because anything less would mean doom to the Flames.

My hope is that Coastal Carolina beats HPU and Liberty beat HPU tonight. I think that would be enough to get Liberty in the regional field but of course at least one win over Coastal would pretty much solidify the Flames as that would probably shoot up their RPI by at least 5 digits if not 10.

Exactly right. Liberty's most realistic chance is to avenge the loss to HPU tonight and get to the final against Coastal. Flames might still need to beat Coastal once to get in, but at least by making the final with CCU they'll have a shot and be in the conversation for NCAA spot. Either way, a loss tonight and it's over.

I would agree, but I don't think the odds of beating Coastal are very good at any time. I'd rather take care of HPU tonight. If there is any NCAA hope, the Flames can't finish behind High Point.

Two trains of thought here, really. To win the tournament (which is the goal but, realistically, not likely) the best case probably would be to play Coastal tonight, win and beat HPU twice Saturday. To keep NCAA at-large hopes alive, finish second to Coastal and pray. Better chance of making it that way.
