This is true, Texas pays assistant coaches 2 times what head coaches here make.

BJWilliams wrote:Id venture his total annual income is around the $300-500K markWow. Really? You really think he's making that much? How ignorant are you? Rocco was making $425k and he had three conference titles and coached football. Gary Gilmore is only making $202k and he's been a National Seed before. You really think a perennial-second place coach who has never even sniffed at a conference title is going to be making that much? In baseball?

BJWilliams wrote:Id venture his total annual income is around the $300-500K markI would say you are smoking weed if you believe this.... I think he makes good money and a lot more than Royer did, but he doesn't make Gill, Rocco, or Layer money like this. I'm not sure what, but it's not even close to $500K.... That would be ridiculous and I don't see us overpaying that much.

I have some issues with him, but not because he "supposedly" bunts too much or on the field management. He has been the best recruiter we have had in a long time, I would argue ever. I just don't believe that advertising where he is interviewing is a good idea for the program. If I am a good player, maybe recently drafted, and know the HC is interviewing elsewhere, I am not real confident that I am going to follow through with my commitment,or go pro, or go somewhere else. That is why I would not have announced he was looking at other schools. But, it is a message board and people are free to do as they wish. It may be a good thing that he leaves, but it could be worse too. Just look at the last several years before he got here. Are you serious? We were 111-65, won 59% of our games, the 3 years before he came and lost in the Championship Game of the BSC those three years, twice by 1 run and by a total of 7 runs. Toman is 186-110 and also won 59% of his games and lost in 2 championship games in his 5 years here. Looks like we will be back to where we started;)

He's not in top 5... The perks are good at LU, but not that good.

prototype wrote:Agreed. I wasn't the biggest Royer fan, and I was in favor of the change, but we have done nothing but stay the same, if not slide backwards, in the last five years. We were closer to making it regionals under Royer than we ever have been under Toman. Many of Toman's best players (and the stars on his best team) were Royer's guys.flameshaw wrote:it could be worse too. Just look at the last several years before he got here. Are you serious?
