Nice pictures! It looks like the wall was painted and the fences in foul ground look new too. The blue collar at home plate looks better than I originally thought.

I agree the collar looks sharp in those pics. It will look even better when the grass greens up in the coming weeks.

As for the fences, they've put up navy blue wind screens with red caps on the top of the fence. They've also put up a new red "Worthington Stadium - Liberty University" sign above the scoreboard.

Now if only we could get good music at the games to make it feel like a minor league game (I only "criticize" because I do music for baseball and know that the right music can change the experience of going to a game for fans).

That's the worst part of our games. Our players don't have intros when they bat, there are no "quirky" sound effects during the game that make minor league baseball amazing. It just isn't good.

SuperJon.... decent intro songs would be kind of nice, but please no quirky sound effects. They might be ok for fans, but players and coaches hate em, lol.

See, that's where I disagree. My coaches and players have always asked me for things during the game. I don't do "sound effects" but when we walk, I have a song for that (mixing it up between a clip from I Would Walk 500 Miles and These Boots Are Made For Walking). When we steal a base I play the theme from the Jeffersons (Movin' On Up). When their coaches are visiting the mound, I play the Jeopardy music or the theme from Andy Griffith. I have a song for when the other team changes pitchers, when they make an error, when we hit a home run, and when we score. I don't play random sound effects just for the heck of it, they're mainly 5-10 second clips to go with what's going on in the game.

before i ask the question, just want to be clear that i'm not being disrespectful or sound like a smart%&# here, im actually curious. Where else have you done the sound for SJ, or what coaches have enjoyed the sound effects?

Mine has been high school and high school playoffs. I don't take offense to you asking. I did the sound for the 2005 Western Finals played at Ernie Shore Field in front of 1100 people and the coaches from the other team commented on how it felt like it was a big time game. Ed Goodson, who some people on here may know from playing on the Dodgers and Giants, lives in Galax, has commented on how he likes some of the stuff I've done (he's my high school coach's father). My head coach (played at VT and in the Cubs organization) and assistant coach (played at a D1 school in NY before transferring to a D2 school to play football and baseball) have paid me to come home to do the games. Our JV coach played four years at Catawba and asks me to do the JV games anytime I'm at home. Our high school has a reputation for being one of the most lively places to watch a game, and part of that is the music and the atmosphere it creates.
