#557201 Who was the last LU player to make it all the way to "the show"?

#557216 The correct answer to BJ´s question is Ian Parmly, who had a cup of coffee last year. Prior that it had been 22 years since Doug Brady in 95.

Texas missed out on a great pr opportunity when they traded Ryan. They could have had Cordell, Texas Ranger in the outfield.

#558459 Ryan blasted his first major league home run last night at the expense of Cider's favorite team the Baltimore Orioles. Hopefully they gave him the ball

#558460 BJ, that dinger (and the fact that he's an LU alum) made the local paper today.

Depending on if you want to count it or not, a guy named Josh Rupe pitched in 17 games for Liberty during the 2001 season as a freshman. He then transferred to a JuCo school - Louisburg College - and was drafted by the White Sox.

Rupe wound up pitching for three teams (Texas, KC, Baltimore) across six seasons, and logged a 5-3 record with a 5.06 ERA in 90 games across 154.2 IP.

LU's website doesn't have info from the 2001 season, but here's a news report from ODU indicating that Rupe was, in fact, at Liberty:
