Keranen should have made the play but that was a line shot playing in. Stafford looked awful , parks looked like he always does and arbright just isnt that good. On the bright side pennington and evans looked good. Evans hit 91 and had movement. Pennington reminds me a lot of fulghum. I wonder if toman was saving clowers in case lambert and lyons cant go.

We got hosed early in the game when Perritt attempted to steal 2nd and was called out even though the replay showed he clearly reached the bag before the tag. Shepherd followed up with a single that would have plated the first run of the game. It was not a great night for the boys in blue.

This was definitely a bad loss, but it was worth trying to see if we could scratch out a win using a few pitchers that have seen limited action this season. Toman tried and it didn't work. No big deal.

No, our pitchers couldn't find the plate. It had nothing to do with the umpire.

While we struggled early on, we routinely had calls go against us on multiple occasions. And while our pitchers could't find the plate reliably early on, Elon also struggled. The issue was when the ball was relatively around the plate where the calls went in favor of Elon and generally against us. On a 3-0 count Shepherd took a pitch that was low and way inside that was called a strike. That pitch would have loaded up the bases with only 1 out. Instead it lead to a ground out at short. We still missed our opportunities, but Blue was definitely had a bad outing last night too.

On the positive side, Perritt's bat came alive last night going 4 - 4 with 3 RBI's and a nice solo shot to tie up the game at 3 - 3 early on. Seiz was off last night. I saw on tv where the trainer was taping his right hand up. Hope he's okay...

The Umpiring has been bad throughout the season. I have seen numerous missed calls, both with balls/strikes, and plays on the bases.

Ball/strike calls are bad nationwide. As a former Umpire, I do not know how they miss so many calls. The strike zone is defined in the rule book. If ball crosses plate within strike zone, it's a strike. Too many Umpires create their own strike zone, then are very inconsistent with calling it. The zone will change inning to inning and sometimes batter to batter, or even pitch to pitch.

I don't understand why we are not seeing Robert Gray. He pitched very well last year in some tough situations but hasn't seen very much of the field this year. Just a total of 2 innings in 2 appearances with an era of 0.

Thanks Flamehunter I had forgotten about him. As for why Gray hasn't seen much time, I really couldnt tell you.
