We are at 21 wins right now with 25 games to go. we have key series against CCU and Radforf to close out the year plus midweeks against UVa and UNC beyond this week. we have to go 19-6 minimum to get to a 40+ win season

Cuda, lacik has 3 extra base hits in a year and a half. Perritt has far superior speed/range and a way better arm. Perritts slugging is 60 pts higher laciks obp is 66 pts higher. I think that tells you why plus perrit has shown he can hit 330 with power last year. Lacik is solid but i think he should sit against leftys. We need to win 2 of 3 acc games if we wanna stay where we are.

No we don't. The conference tournament counts towards a 40 win season.

Ah thanks for that Jon...to make 40 pre-tournament we have to go 19-6. It takes 4 or 5 wins to win the tournament right?

We actually have 26 games left this season. I think we have a legit shot to hit 40-wins before the tournament.

Duke, Maryland, VT, UNC, UVA: 2-3
Richmond, JMU, Elon: 2-1
VMI: 2-1
Longwood: 3-0
GW: 3-0
UNCA: 3-0
Coastal: 2-1
Radford: 2-1

That puts us at 40-14 heading into the tournament. We win three games and lose the title game, that puts us at 43-15. That'd be pretty tough to leave out of the tournament.

I would have to agree CCU (despite being off their game somewhat this year) certainly would get their attention. Plus the ACC is one of if not the best baseball conference in the country so getting a pair of wins there helps. Then add to that wins over 3 MAC schools (including a Kent State squad that is only 2 seasons removed from a CWS appearance) and 43 wins certainly gets us very solidly in the discussion for an at-large.

If we keep playing like this i think we do better than 2 and 3 against acc schools. Also toman said were still trying to add a game. Umd likely replaced charlotte because there terrible. Id think we reschedule at jmu since we play them atleast twice every year. I think your pretty close on the rest.

I could see us doing better than 2-3 against the ACC schools. I could also see us dropping a game to Longwood or GWU although I don't expect it. Either way, 40 wins going into the tournament is very possible. If we get there, and then we win the tournament, we're looking at a possible 2 seed.

Ok, with Maryland, Duke, and Va Tech - you are pretty much looking at 3 51-100 rpi teams. So basically a weekend series with Radford or Vmi, and I would be disappointed with anything but 2 out of 3 wins with the way we are playing and Lyons and Fulghum pitching. Then you can throw it UNC and UVA for cherries on top if we pull em out. Yes I know MD has a high rpi now and UNC is struggling. They will both play themselves to about usual by the end of year. MD will be around 60 or so and UNC will end up inside top 50. If MD stays in top 50 then even better!!! I am hoping for 3-2 with 2 against the first 3, and them taking 1 from UVA or UNC.

Lacik is doing what a leadoff should do. His obp is better and his bb is better. He doesn't have to hit dbls. Im not saying either one should sit but why mess with lacik when he hasn't hurt you. Perritt is coming around but he has had a lot of chances to do so.
