I just don't get playing an OOC team that you know will hurt your RPI in the end. Radford isn't going to win 40 or 50 games and have a decent RPI. They may win 30 games at most. Atleast we scheduled the #1 team in the country on the road to make-up for the JMU cancellation. Of course were not going to win that game with the young team we have, but if it comes down to an at-large bid, that would help our RPI.

Bodoyle - We have those bigger name teams on schedule this year. You can't compare you having a mid week game vs UNC bc you are picking 1 game on your schedule. Radford now isn't the same Radford of 5 years ago. They are a top 100 rpi team, which is what you shoot for to schedule. Ok, look at your schedule last year. Radford has a better rpi than Marist, Michigan, UAB, citadel, Pitt, and in line with teams like Ohio state, Illinois, uconn. You can't just pick 1 make up example for your argument. If that's the case, we opened with South Carolina, you had a tournament that included a team that had a 230 rpi last year, you should have done what we did.

New: That wasn't an extra game. We missed a game against JMU on Saturday so we played UNC to replace that game. We're playing the same # of games (actually playing UNC again at their place in April).

Also, the lamecocks refuse to play us. It literally took an act of Congress to get them to schedule us in sports beyond being paired up in post-season events in major sports. As Gilmore has said multiple times, with our recent success over the past...decade, we have a hard time getting teams to play us (other than Clemson and UNC on an almost yearly basis). We used to play Miami and that ended, played Nebraska a few years ago, but they're no longer relevant. Used to play GTech, and this is the first year in a while we have a series against them.
