Has anyone heard when the schedule will be released. It has to be soon, most schools have already released.

Have not heard when ours is to be released but I don't think we are behind as College Baseball Daily lists the schedules released and it is still a fairly small percentage of schools. What I have seen in other team's schedules is that we have a home and home with Maryland, a non-conference game with Radford to go along with our regular series, and three single games against JMU. It had been announced in other places that we were opening up at South Carolina for three and the following weekend opening up our new stadium with Penn State. Have heard but don't know for sure that we have another solid SEC series prior to conference play beginning.

What I am interested in seeing with the new conference alignment is whether we will play Coastal as we only play three of the 6 teams from the other division. If so, the RPI strength of schedule may not be as big of an issue this year but our young pitchers had better be ready.

Good deal, just saw a bunch of them released on Kenall Rogers twitter feed the last week. We realeased super early last year, even before basketball did.

Who are you hearing the SEC series is? The first part of that schedule sounds the same as last couple years as far as JMU, UMD and non conference radford game go.

The baseball coaches were lobbying to have the inter-divisional series be set up on the basis of RPI instead of a rotation of the teams. So I think Liberty and Coastal will probably always play each other just based on that. I would guess LU would also play GWU and Asheville this year if that's the case.

Saw a road midweek game against East Carolina very early in the season on there, that's a good rpi game. We shut them out 2 years ago behind Evans.

3 game series' at Georgia, South Carolina, and Coastal Carolina in addition to the East Carolina road game is not a bad base to build on. If we have the normal games with Virginia, Tech, etc. and avoid the Coppin States of the world this will be a great schedule.

Very impressive. If we win 37 or 38 with that schedule i think we could get an at large. Hands down the most difficult schedule since I've followed the program. Nice to see some new matchups like WVU and Penn State that are very winnable. By my count there could be as many as 20-22 high RPI games on that slate, maybe more if anybody in the conference steps up. Really no cream puffs there other than Siena.

Some great home series for the fans as well in OOC. Last few years St Johns is the only team we've attracted. Don't sleep on Army, they won 41 games last year and were in the Charlottesville regional. Excited for this season, great job putting this together. Hope we have the horses to put up some W's.

I had no idea West Virginia had a baseball team. But I also didn't know Marshall had a baseball stadium. Or do they?

Yeah WVU is awful, no reason they shouldn't win that series. But it's a good excuse to get my family out to the ballpark!

Agree with all of the above comments regarding the schedule, especially the first four weeks where we have weekend series' against SC and Georgia wrapped around the opening of our stadium and Army in the house. Add to that the mid week games against Maryland, Elon, and East Carolina and they guys better be ready from day 1.

In conference, High Point has a chance to be very good so that and the Coastal series could be very solid RPI games. Keep in mind the RPI changes this year which give extra weight to road wins.

Getting two ACC's schools to come to town is nice for the midweek schedule. Wish the Duke games was a little later in the day.

Anyone know if they are going to start charging admission to the baseball games? I figure it's just a matter of time now with the new stadium.

From what I've heard, yes. Not sure how much admission will be though. But the website still lists it as free.

They had a price list that they were handing out near the end of the season last year. GA $5 / game and $50 GA/ season tickets.

Def. charging this year. If you bought season football tickets you received a punch card that gave free admission to 1 game of several different sports including basketball and baseball. I would think around $5 would sound about right. Especially with some more interesting teams coming in to sell the public in. I'm ready now, basketball team is just unbearable to watch.

They also had a family pass which is going to be $130 and include admission for 2 adults & 2 kids.

I'll give you one place NOT to stay in Columbia. The Courtyard by Marriott USC location. Great hotel but its right by a train depot or busy train line. I was there on business and didn't get much sleep from the train horns all night. There's a Hilton downtown and a Marriott that depending on the day and time of year are reasonably priced.

Divisional play this year may make for a tougher schedule than in times past. 15 games will be in their own division and my guess is that LU will face the best 3 (9 games) in the other division (CCU, etc).
