I think he's actually done a good job with the pitching staff this year, but the bunting thing has got to go. It's a tactic that improves your chance of scoring 1 run in an inning but decreases your chance of scoring multiple runs. If you're bunting for 1 run, late in the game, then go for it. Otherwise it's just a terrible tactical decision.

Yeah all this bunting has really hurt our record. JB should have hired a better coach, but I am sure his ego got in the way. It's all his fault, our last 3 coaches were head and shoulders above this guy.

Can't speak for everyone, but the most vocal of the people who criticize JB, are mad because he made a hiring decision that resulted in their man crush no longer welcome on the mountain. IMVVVVVHO, he made the correct choice each time, but some people disagree even though the results say otherwise. But hey everyone has the right to be wrong, no reason to hate.

I don't think there is as many people that hate JB as you think there is... JB was and is still is a huge upgrade. I just think there are so many sensitive people on this board that jump on people that criticize a coaches decision. That is sports - get over it. That's what fans do - doesn't mean they don't want the team to win or hate the coach or the AD, we just like to play coach. The constant protecting of JB and JT after every negative comment is annoying.

I am not a huge fan of Toman, but it is clearly discernible that he is light years ahead of where we have been for the last 15-20+ years. However, I will admit to drinking the JB kool aid since he has come to LU, (even though I was close personal friends with the previous 2 AD's). He has been the best thing to ever happen to LU athletics.
As far as "protecting" JB and JT, that is silly, especially since they don't need it, nor are they likely to care. Sorry your sarcasm meter is broke. That is sports-get over it my friend.

BTW nothing personal, you do a great job with your business and supporting LU . In fact, I may contact you soon to see if you want to do some web design work for my company.

i agree, i think we are in much better shape as well. I just think if we changed a couple tactical decisions you could subtract about 5 losses. You guys are gonna be mad if we dont win the tourney when were sitting at home with 41 or 42 wins wondering why we didn't get in...it's because we goofed up chances like this one.

UGa just went 16 innings w/ #1 Florida and just lost on an awful play at the end. They are a good ball club and I think we have proven we can play with anyone.
