Wasn't talking about you, was talking about Trotalot. What you say doesn't really bother me honestly. I usually don't agree but it's whatever.

Yeah, I know I waste a lot of time on here but believe it or not I find tons of rational people on here to debate good issues. Plus we all love LU sports.
There really are some great folks here. Since I came across the board, it is a regular for me. It is a great source of info and I'd say that most others feel the same; there are a fair number of opposing fans- and even people like badger, who have no ties to LU at all.

Enough of the lovefest- carry on.

Im hoping so too jbock. In our 23 wins (which our friend conveniently has ignored) we have averaged just under 9 runs per game (8.7 I think). In our (now) 5 losses...3.2 runs per game. I certainly agree that if the offense gets rolling, the Flame Train will be chugging down the track again.

Yeah we need the offense to get going. The BSC is going to be tough this year and we have got to find a way to win these close ones. What happened with the ball Wimmer dropped??? He was right in front of the plate, I wonder if he lost in the lights.

23 wins means absolutely nothing if we can't win the games we need to in order to make a statement.

In 2010 we won 42 games and had no chance of the regionals because we didn't beat anybody. I'm incredibly happy with how we started this year but I still have absolutely no faith in Jim Toman as our head baseball coach. He's a great assistant. He's a great recruiter. He's not a good game manager at all. Give me the three Liberty guys on staff and Jason Murray and I'll be completely happy.

He tried to play the ball with one hand. He kept his mask in one hand and tried to one-hand the ball and it bounced off the heel of his mitt. He's got to drop the mask in that situation and play it with two to secure the ball.

good grief, so we go on a two game slide and the haters come out. Yes i question some of the game management situations, they baffle me at times, but last year the haters were talking about how the arms were mis-managed...and rightfully so, but that has totally changed. Our pitching is very good. we are getting our bats on the ball, they were just to the VCU guys. It is baseball and some days you just do not have it. I would be more concerned if we were striking out all the time, but we are not. The guys are making good contact. We definitely need to show well against the Herd this weekend, and a sweep would be perfect. Look, i have zero problem with questioning Toman on game management as it has been suspect at times, but if you haters want to come on here and complain, where the heck have you been all year when things have been good?

Jon's about the furthest thing from a hater as there is on this board...he has issue with decisions yeah (doesnt everybody?) but he certainly isnt a "hater". Now Trottalot...that's a whole different breed of horse...

On Forslund ... he wasn't extended unnecessarily. I think he was at around 52 pitches after his first six innings. If Wimmer catches that foul ball like he's supposed to, there's one out and a runner on first and you pitch the next guy differently. Instead, there's two on and nobody out. Big difference there.

No, I can be classified as a Toman hater. I didn't agree with him getting an extension and I don't like him as our coach. Pretty sure that's the definition of a "hater.

Im not a toman hater i keep having to say that. I like toman a lot and think he dine a pretty good job. However if were ever going to get over the hump hes got to stop being so predictable with the small ball and baserunning and stop going to long with the pitchers. Im not talking about high pitch counts this year, its more sticking with a guy too long. Especially this year when we have so many options. Coach hust lets guys get in too much trouble before he takes them out. Whena kid has thrown 3 innings of relief and the first two guys get on, you make the change, you dont wait til he walks the next guy then bring in bankemper with bases juices an nobody out like hes done to him 3 times lately. I was comp wrong about him, that guy is wicked nasty. I apolgize for errors, the iphone is tough typing for me

I hear there is more brewing than atmosphere. See if Toman takes an extended recruiting trip?

I really don't like baseball at all but I loosely follow LU's team. It seems like every year, no matter the coach, something happens with the team atmosphere getting negative or going awry. Are baseball players all just whiny babies that constantly need their egos coddled? You rarely hear about this kind of thing happening in other sports. Occasionally basketball.

After talking with my son I don't think that's true. What is true is a lot of players are dealing with and trying to play through nicks and injuries that really aren't public knowledge. I think the kids are still very positive about the season.

Im with smoothie on his assessment of BBfan. With only 7 posts the credibility isnt there...and of course ToC jumps on it because he cant stand to see success of any sort. We have a chance to get healthy real quick against the Herd this weekend and then he can crawl right back into his little cave and seethe like he was doing when we won 16 of our first 17 games

Congrats on the win. It just seems that all is not well and some major events are reason for concern administratively.

Dude, someone could stub their toe and youd think it was cause for concern administratively (i.e. fire JB)...let it go.
