Nice to see us rebound. Looks like yesterday was just a bad day at the park. Every team has one.

Liberty wins 9-0!

Only thing that ticks me off about this game is that we didn't score a run in the 2nd inning :D

The win today makes me feel more confident that yesterday was only a fluke. It's a costly fluke, but let's get cracking for conference play.

Agreed...but still a fluke. the guys rebounded well today and they didnt even have to use a big inning. Its not game over on the at large prospects but it certainly doesnt help.

got to ride down and watch today, couple new things jumped out.

Grauer is electric on the mound. I think your going to see him as the closer once he gets back in gear over the next week. He was 91-94 with a wicked off speed pitch that froze each of the first 2 hitters he faced.

I was impressed with Mcclendon today. He hasn't gotten much of a chance and was injured last year but he really has a powerful stroke. He crushed a opposite field double in his only AB. Sizemore had a good pinch hit at bat as well. These guys are worth a look. Cox finally turned on a ball today, should be a sign that he is returning to health.

Coach put Richardson at 3b to try to spark some offense and little came from it. Richardson can play the glove very well at 3rd base as well. Sype came in for the last couple innings and continues to be really steady in the field.

Really impressed with Herndon today. He came out and threw 4 perfect innings, then gave up a leadoff hit and settled right back in.

Toman is truly using just about every man on the roster in some way shape or form this year. It's amazing how many two way players we have this year.

Also Gardner Webb beat UNC today, huge upset and Coastal beat College of Charleston. Looks like those 2 along with Campbell are going to challenge us. Last I checked Winthrop was 1-14 or somethign like that, man have they fallen off the map. Lowly Siena still is touting us as there only win at 1-14, that game might cost us down the line. I think Bryant is a decent team.

That's exactly what Lang's article was about in the paper today:
Liberty routs JMU on a combined one-hitter
By: Chris Lang | The News & Advance
Published: March 15, 2012
When Carson Herndon came to Liberty in the fall, he had hopes of cracking the Flames’ everyday lineup. But his bat fell silent during the fall practice season, and coach Jim Toman was left to find creative ways to utilize Herndon.

The 6-foot-4 freshman pitched in very small doses during his career at Davie County High School in North Carolina, but he spent most of his time as a shortstop. Still, Toman noticed Herndon’s live arm and gave his freshman a chance to pitch in the fall. Impressed with Herndon’s progress, Toman put Herndon into the pitching mix once spring practice began.

So when Herndon took the mound at Worthington Stadium against James Madison on Wednesday, he not only was making his first college start, but he was making his first start altogether. Unfazed, Herndon ripped through the first inning, retiring JMU in order on eight pitches, a positive start to what would turn into a great day for the Flames. Herndon and three others combined on a one-hit shutout of the Dukes, and the bats got going early in a 9-0 victory that ended LU’s first two-game skid of the season.
