Northwestern teammates sign with rivals

NORTHWESTERN HIGH SCHOOL - Northwestern baseball players Sammy Taormina, left, and Michael Patrick have signed to play for Liberty University and Winthrop University.
Northwestern High's Michael Patrick and Sammy Taormina can savor being teammates on the baseball field one last time, but that all ends next year when they become Big South Conference opponents. Patrick has signed a national letter of intent to attend Winthrop University in 2012, while Taormina has signed with Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va.
