I did some asking around about the whole regional/at-large discussion just to see how much last night hurt us. The committee doesn’t look so much at mid-week games. They take the whole body of work and especially with a higher RPI now. That doesn't mean we can lose the mid-week games and it not hurt because we've still gotta get to that 43-win mark.

Baseball America has us as a bubble team with 18 other schools for about ten spots. One of those 18 schools is VMI so you can mark them off and make it us an 17 others. Another school on there is Elon so we have to beat Elon next week so that they can't claim the sweep over us.

And, on a side note, the kid that Duke threw against us last night was a 15th round draft pick out of high school and a Cape Cod all-star last summer.

I hear their Freshman 2b is their closer as well throwing 93 off the mound. Is the ACC really that good where they can just beat up on Duke like that? Seems like they got a pretty good squad.

The ACC is really good, especially at the top.

I dont know where the ACC ranks so I'm just throwing out numbers but let's say they are a top 3 conference. I've seen the BSC as high as 7. 7 Vs 3 doesnt seem that big of a difference, but I think there is a very big difference between the ACC and BSC

The top teams in the ACC (UVA, GA Tech, FSU, Miami) are really good, i.e. top 10 good.

Right, but you have to remember we've got PC, GWU, and CSU coming up who all have not so good RPIs. We need to get a win over a top RPI team (Elon, JMU, VCU, CCU) to have our "signature win."
