Personally, I couldn't care less about arguing whether one conference is better than the other, and I'm not trying to throw gas on a worn-out argument, but according to the RPIs at Boydsworld, the CAA has the power edge over the BSC. Next year the tide will flow our way. Here's the top 20 conferences out of 31 total.

It doesn't surprise me that the CAA is rated higher than the BSC. I am a little surprised in the Southern Conference ranking at 8th. Not bad for a mid major. The Big South had there better years with Coastal and Wintrhop. Time for them to come down to reality.

This is the lowest I've seen the Big South in baseball RPI's.

The SoCon is pretty good in baseball. Elon's not quite Coastal level but they're nothing to laugh at either.

I remember a time when the Colonial conference was ranked as high as 5th and the Big South 10th.

When East Carolina and Richmond had nationally ranked programs and the others such as JMU, ODU, VCU, and others had solid programs back when they were sending 3 teams to the tournament. When East Carolina and Richmond left the conference the new teams from the north such as Drexel, Delaware, Towson, and Hofstra came way short of filling that void and the others teams seemed to drop off as well. The Colonia conference is on the way up in baseball but might be a bit "diluted" due to the northern colleges coming in.

The Big South had there better years when Coastal and Winthrop were nationally ranked or close to it putting at least 2 teams in the tournament every year. Of course Elon, UNC Greensboro, and LU had great years and would sneek in there from time to time. I believe that Elon got an at large bid as a member of the Big South. Elon and UNCG has since left the BSC and other than LU no one has risen up. Right now Coastal is the only BSC team worthy of an at large bid to the tourney.

Ye olde CAA and BS move up one spot each, but remain 6 spots apart. Not sure how much we can move up, should CCU make it to the CWS. Probably none, but we're just .001 behind the WAC. Maybe up to 15th out of 31? :woohoo

And after Elon, there isn't as much of a drop-off for the SoCon as there is after Coastal in the BSC.

Of course, that looks to change in the near future, but the bottom of the BSC will still pull it down quite some...
