The panthers visit lynchburg for a three game set to close out the regular season with first pitch scheduled for 7pm friday, 4pm saturday, and 1pm sunday. HPU (19-30 overall, 8-10 big south) is coming off a 6-5 win over USC-Upstate, while the Flames (29-23-1 overall, 12-6 big south) are 7-0-1 in the month of may and playing some of their best baseball of the year. get out and support the guys in their final games at worthington this season! BTW...friday's game can be heard on the 90.9 or online at www.thelightonline.com and live stats are available as well. http://www.libertyflames.com/baseball/xlive.htm

Fairly easy win today 8-1. Outhit them 16-4 as most of the runs seemed to come with 2 outs. HP did have the bases loaded with no outs but Stokes pitched his way out of it allowing 1 run. It was all LU after that.

Good win for the guys. I think one more win will lock us in as the 2-seed.

Either one win or one VMI loss will do the trick.

With a win tomorrow, Liberty would tie a school record for conference wins in a season (15 in 1995).

Also, assuming VMI holds on against CSU (they're up 7-2 in the fifth), the seeds are pretty much set.

1 - Coastal Carolina
2 - Liberty
3 - VMI
4 - Winthrop
5 - High Point
6 - Radford/Charleston Southern
7 - Radford/Charleston Southern
8 - UNC Asheville

Radford won the season series against CSU, so if RU wins or if CSU loses tomorrow, RU gets the six and gets to bat last. CSU only gets it with a win and a RU loss.

evidently they are gone for the night...

i have a question. since it is barbers fault when things go bad, that means barber gets props for this, right? i'm sure checkmate is on a sabbatical and can't respond to this

Rain delay. They're waiting it out until about 2:30, but I doubt they're going to play.

Both coaches would probably rest arms for later this week.

Your coach is being pretty stubborn about wanting to get this one in.

That's odd unless he's wanting to force the Panthers into a weaker position later in the week.

He probably has some pitching he wants to get innings in prep for the tourney. Can't blame him one bit.

3-3, bottom of the 3rd. Just had a downpour in the area so I wonder if they'll even try to finish the game.

I just left as the rains came...we tied it up 3 to 3 just a few minutes before it started to rain

ps...these umpires are brutal Storm had to come out again today b/c the homeplate umpire changed his call 3 times on a out call.

The guy on deck for HP and I were talking, he said he's never seen worse then when he comes up here...it stinks that these guys are local
